Quick feedback on the fake sponsors. [Archive]

Well i just wanted to say that the fake sponsors to me personally feel out of place on tekzilla. I dont know if its meant to be a rev3 trademark or something, but it just feels like that belongs on diggnation. They drink, they do weird stories, the sponser humor fits into the flow, its usually part of a inside joke, a cultural thing. When its on tekzilla it feels forced or borrowed, not unique or maybe im just not getting it. Plus it takes away from diggnation.

I love the humor, i love the silliness, i was sad when sarah said the gazette would be more "serious" this week ( i thought the sketch was amusing ) but i do feel this one thing is out of place and screams to me " look we are are cool too guys, honest ! " instead of just playing to its strengths and being its own thing.

Anyway, thats just my opinion and im just one guy. Great show and keep them coming please ! =)

Its not that I don't like them or think their funny...they just don't seem to be very fitting for this particular show.

9th, after the fake one on the first episode, I was like "wait thats diggnations thing", the only idffrence is that Tekzillas arn't as good, and have i noticed an animal theme?

That is also the first thing I thought within the first thirty seconds of the show. In fact I even thought of emailing them and telling them outright to leave Diggnations gag alone.

I'm going to have to agree.....they COULD be ok if they didn't feel forced and unnatural. It seems like they get read as if it was an actual sponsor, but it should be read with a different tone to help incite the humor in it. I'd say, either work on the delivery or just drop them.

It really does seem odd on Tekzilla to see that. Diggnation it just seems right but Tekzilla seems more like a serious Tech show.

just wanted to bump this thread instead of starting a new one.

the fake sponsors have really gone beyond a joke and are now starting to really annoy me as a viewer. they are not funny and seem to be forced. there is also a distinct animal theme through them. please get rid of them as they are dragging down an otherwise decent show.
i though i should bump this because it was made about 2-3 weeks ago i think and i have not seen any change.

I was not going to say anything about the fake sponsors, but now that someone else brought it up I must agree with the others to keep it on diggantion. It feels forced to me.

They definately don't suit this show (IMO) and they kind of annoy me when I'm watching the show. They are good on diggnation, but not on Tekzilla... Take 'em off?

I dunno, I don't really mind them. Some are actually pretty funny. We are all talking about the little goofy statements at the beginnings of the episodes here right?

I hear alot of "Diggnation this, Diggnation that" but I'm of the opinion DiggNation is complete rubbish.

I say, let the fake sponsors roll.

To be honest, I wish InDigital came back. These "fake" sponsors are driving me away from watching the show.

I mean, Episode 12. "The Man who eats brains" and a shitty image of Frankensteins monster and boring text. There was no point. It seems as if Jessica went "Oh no, I need to create another fake sponsor, I'll just look on a funny pictures website for something."

Kill them PLEASE. Anybody else feel that they would just like the InDigital format back also?

I agree the old format was better. The new format is far too dumbed down, I mean a whole segment on buying second hand games...cmon! The fake sponsors
need to be taken out and since i doubt Jessica reads the forums, can someone at Rev3 please tell her what the viewers want.

Its weird. I actually watch tekzilla now and when that fake sponser comes on, i cant help but remember diggnation every single time, i cant help but think they adopted it just to try to fit the show in and be " cool " which is not what the show needs if you ask me cause its already cool on its own. By the time i remember diggnation, realize why the fake ad is in tekzilla and move past it and rationalize that they are just trying real hard to make this show work, its into the show.

So i guess im saying, i dont think its good that at the very start of the show it forces me to disengage and find a path back, move on and re-engage myself. Kinda takes the steam out of the start of the show, ya know? I always do re-engage though, cause its a show in its own right. Hence why it doesnt need the fake sponsers. :)

Anyway, its not the end of the world, just feeding back is all.

the fake sponsors arnt funny at all. diggnations are funny far more often because theyre so wildly inapropriet, not just stupid for the sake of being stupid

^That is what annoys me, the show is completely relying on the viewers for income or even to stay on the online-air. Whoever is responsible for the show, even anyone at Rev3, should start to actually read their discussion forums. One of the presenters (I will not say who) seems to have very little interest in the community or technology in general.

TRSJeff or Joey or someone who actually reads the forums and has some pull at Rev3, please tell the Tekzilla team to read the big thread which is offering them advice.

You also forgot the fact that they use viewer's questions. Maybe we should all email in and ask them why they put up the stupid fake sponsers...

Also, on the note of email questions, am I the only one that finds that to be the most interesting part of the show? I mean serious, the weekly back up segment hosted by drobo isn't that good, Jessica's "Code Red" a.k.a. "Hey, look at this site I think is cool." has been well, what I expect from a segment about Jessica telling us about a site she thinks is cool... Anyways, just wondering if it is just me or not.

i agree, i have not seen anything good out of the show thus far. everything is stuff that could be found on google in five minutes.
as for them reading emails on the show, i believe they pick very simple questions
that no-one but the biggest noob wouldnt understand. i really think jessica should find another job because i would rather listen to someone who knows what they are talking about rather than a pretty face.

the whole phrase "it doesn't bother me, but....." means that in fact it does bother you.
