Anyone else think this would be a good way to add all of the things covered in Systm up? A nice general Power Over Ethernet tutorial, show how to go at a wireless router the correct way, the correct places to solder, using electricity skills/rules, and even use some of the WiFi skills covered in a previous episode.

I would love to see Systm do a Power over Ethernet tutorial for putting wireless routers in places with no electricity (Attics for example).

Thoughts?

The show idea is good, but one must keep in mind that actually modding/setting up stuff for POE is much easier than learning how to run cable through your home properly, much the less up to code... And without that POE is geeky cool but semi-useless. Also, for diy cable people should be darn sure to test their cables before using them in POE setups, as the results of sticking a POE contact on your Rx/Tx's might be less than desirable. Also, do not mod anything to use POE that has a regulator/PSU and not just a rectifier in the wall wort, as POE is not the cleanest sort of thing in the world, and some devices can be quite temperamental when they get that extra volt or two.

This was covered exactly in hak5. http://www.hak5.org/archives/190

Another thing similar that I thought was kind of interesting was free electricity over phone lines, it was a submission on Digg.
