Let's talk villains! Who's your favorite? What makes a good villain? Who do we need to see more of? Villains can be either DC or Marvel.
I personally vote for more Dr. Sivana. I love his bald head, thick glasses, and buck teeth. He's emblematic of the mad scientist bent on taking over the world.

I like this guy.

I'd love to see another Empire mini someday, the original was so good.
I still remember the panel of the superman type character being used to create addictive super-pills? Disturbing.
Mark Waid's crazy imagination at it's best. (Too bad about the latest Flash issue).

The Joker. Predictable I know, but he's perfect. You never know what he's going to do. Even the other villains hate him, he's just far too insane and unprediactable for anyone's good. I also love the mystery shrouded origin of his that shows he's lost all memory of early life. He was definitely at his finest in Arkham Asylum. I also loved that issue of Batman (663, maybe?) that Morrison did mostly in prose, where Joker just completely re-invents his personality every once and a while. Oh Puddin', you're my favorite.

I don't like for villains to be reused. After two or three times it gets to be ridiculous. It makes the hero seem incompetent and stretches your suspension of disbelief. I could do without ever seeing Joker, Dr. Doom, or Magneto ever again. Seriously, how many times has the Joker escaped from Arkham Asylum. Two dozen?

He's in it at the end of most issues, and out by the start of the next. Anyways, I disagree. I like the villains who pop up a few times, but in the same way I love the heroes do. I read a lot of books for the villains. It may be creepy, but I liek Villains better than most heroes.

The justified villains are always the ones I like best. Those whose ideas are basically right but they go about doing them the wrong way. Magneto, Lex and Superboy Prime are some of my favorites.

How about Murmur? He's justified. He uhhhh hates noise.

My favorite DC bad guy has always been...

Something about the Green Lantern Corps top cop turning on them was always compelling to me.
However in the place of Hal Jordan, I would have to go with Harm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harm_%28comics%29). A character so frightening that wikipedia won't post a picture of him. He was a pretty wicked SOB that Young Justice went up against a couple of times. The guy tried to kill the pope. And not the current Nazi Pope. The previous guy that everyone loved.

I've always been interested in Zoom and the reverse-Flashes.

Oh man, I totally haven't thought about Harm in long time. Definitely one of the few villains that truly deserves the title.
Killing your little sis by tossing a clock radio into her bath is not cool. Pretty badass walking out of hell as it FROZE OVER too.

Deadpool was one of my favorite villians back in the day. But only the New Mutants / early X-Force time period. Loved how he'd make fun of your mama* while beating the crap out of you.
The Deadpool of today is a whole different beast.
* I don't specifically recall any yo mama jokes specifically, but I'm sure he said some to Cable off panel.

Did anyone ever read Arkham Asylum: Living Hell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkham_Asylum:_Living_Hell#Arkham_Asylum:_Living_H ell)? There was a villanous version of Humpty Dumpty, that wasn't the one from Superman, who was really really interesting. Basically he had an obsession with anything that was broken, and always tried to fix it, but had no boundaries, or idea of right and wrong. I won't say more because I don't want to spoil anything. Anyways, he was the most interesting and well-written villain I can remember, and has never appeared since (to my knowledge).

Darkseid is cool. Very powerful, very smart, lotsa tricks. Challenges the highest heroes easily, but dabbles with annoying lesser ones as well.
(Mr.) Sinister has been an amazing villain for the X-Men when he has been written well.
The Saint of Killers was just a nasty dude that everyone knew not to screw with. Herr Starr is comical, but often effective.
So many good villains...

Not that I love every single appearance, but:
DC: The Joker
Marvel: Magneto
They're great concept villains.

Magneto - A great villian, merely because he really isn't a true villian.
Gepetto from Fables- He was totally unexpected and brilliant suprise.
Ultimate Version of Osborn- Mainly because of the most recent arc. He's acting exactly how Lex Luthor should be treating Superman. You can't take him out yourself, so you turn the public against him and let them do the heavy lifting.

Deathstroke the Terminator by far, Greg Rucka could write the heck out of him!
Marvel? I like Crossbones and The Red Skull, the Cap villains roster

Hm. I actually kind of despise Ultimate Osborn or normal osborn for that matter. He's just so... insane. In fact, I have that problem with Spider-man a lot. The whole everyone hating him thing gets to me. I just want to shake them and say "DONT YOU GET IT?! HES THE GOOD GUY!" It's very frustrating.
I love Lex Luthor for the same reason I love Batman, they're human. Sure he's become extraordinary, but even give his intellect there's many other ways he could've gone. Plus, you've got to give it to a man who continually takes up against Superman. He's the immovable wall to Supes' unstoppable force. Even still, he's not single minded which is the downfall of some villians. They let their life crumble around them because they can't give focus on anything but their arch enemy. The man's got goals. Just if he can work Superman's death into those plans as well then all the better.

I almost put Crossbones there. I just finished reading the omnibus and I love how he's written there. I love the scene where he beats up Cap, but refuses to let that be the time he kills him.

yes, that was a great scene he kind of has a since of sportsmanship, but that goes out the window by #25

I don't know why but as of DC its gotta be Poisin Ivy. I like the way she takes her whole love for the environment over board. Its like she's saying "Go Green or ur Done For".
Marvel wise, its gotta be Mr Sinister(the 80's-90's version). He was so skulky and sly behind the scenes. He could be behind something and u wouldn't know for like 5 issues. He was always brilliant and never got his hands dirty unless he needed to. And he lusts after those Grey genes. Hey who doesn't?

Its like she's saying "Go Green or ur Done For".I think she generally takes more of a "I'm going green and you're done" stance. But yeah, she's a great villain when done right. Otherwise she's just a neon-redhead with a handicapped Bane at her side.

I think some writers take her overboard in the hedonistic arena
