View Full Version : WTF Happend to InDigital?

Ok, what the **** happened to InDigital?

I loved InDigital the day it premiered, I couldn't get enough of how well it was done, and how smoothly it flowed. I loved Hahn and Diane, they were a great duo, and even when Andrew appeared, he was a great addition. The "Host Balance" was pretty much perfect, Hahn, the 'info/friendly guy'. Diane, the "talkative/funny girl". And when Andrew showed his face, he sort of added his personality to the equation.

But now, with Revision3's new look and feel. They had to go and screw it all up. First by adding 2 un-friendly faces, and giving crap reviews. Who the **** is Wil Wheaton? Jessica Corbin? These strange, out of place, personalities mess the whole nature of the show.

Wil is just cocky and annoying. His useless jokes and crappy reviews mislead and turn the show from a "G" to "TV-14" Rating. Why the **** does he have to swear every moment he can? Why are his jokes so lame, and why the **** is he talking about things he does even know? "But the processor is just not fast enough for it to keep up the rendering..", my ASS! The ****ing emulator he was using was a 0.3 alpha release, doesn't he know how to get "Stable" releases? **** him.

Now I just feel sorry for Hahn, it almost looks like his "Good Intentions" get drowned out by the loud babbling of Wil. Plus the even worse "come-backs" of Jessica just screw the whole review process up.

Where did Diane go?

I don't think it's nearly as bad as you're making it out to be, and I happen to like the addition of Wil to the show. Whatever the case, if the switch in staff allows them to regularly put out episodes, I'm all for it. Diane will be missed, but I'd much rather have it come out on a regular schedule even if it means a new set of faces.

I have only watched one episode before and I just watched ep 5 and was glad to see the fimilar face of Jessica. I like her reporting style.

As for you InDigital fans. I know how dissappointing it can be when your show is f*^ked with (Sports Night, Arrested Development, Cupid, etc) hopefully there will be balance once again young Skywalker.

I don't know how anyone can be so attached to people that have done 4 episodes in like 6 months. It's not like you got used to the setup. Wil is cool, and I remeber Jessica from techtv... so she may well be cool too.

Wil Wheaton is a geek icon and writer. Wheaton appeared on The Screen Savers and Call For Help. He's best known for his work on Star Trek and Arena. Jessica Corbin co-anchored TechLive and contributed to The Screen Savers.

The first review that Wil gave, I cringed on every syllable. It just seemed like he was trying too hard. But after he reviewed the treo and went on to the GPX I was definetly more pleased. Other than that my biggest complaint was at the end of the episode where Wil went on and on about something or other and it seemed like Jessica and Hahn could only stare blankly at him. I honestly said out loud at that moment "They're just going to let him ramble on like that?".

And in regards to Jessica, I would suggest that if she reads this to wear a shirt that fits next time.

I love it and I think Ms. Corbin looked just dandy!

Diane found a job that takes up her time.

Wil Wheaton is a geek icon.

The show is fine.

I enjoyed this episode of InDigital. I think the new additions in personel work fine and I don't think that the show is somehow less "smoothly flowing." I agree with casework that any change in staff should be welcome if it improves the regularity at which the show can be put out.
Besides, I don't think its fair for anyone to judge a show after seeing only one episode. Every show (especially the ones we get to see for free) deserve at least that much respect before we say that they "had to go and screw it all up."

I've enjoyed InDigital since episode one, but the swearing really turned me off. I haven't seen any other work that Wil has done, but I don't think it was necessary for him to swear excessively at all.

I like the new-ish format... Wil and Jessica are good and the cussing kinda makes this fit into the rest of Rev3... I don't mind it.

I thought the cursing did seem a little weird for InDigital, but I'd hardly call it excessive. He said, like, what -- 3 curse words?

I like both "old" and "new" versions of InDigital. The new hosting is just fine with me. I do not mind Jessica and Wil. Wil kind of gets on his soapbox a little, but I like that. I enjoy visiting his blog. So I've been a fan of his and the others for awhile. Great show!

I like the show still even after watching all of them since day one. I miss Diane but I like Jessica as I can't think of anyone else to do a great job. I've seen Jessica in many tech related shows and internet videos. I just hope we see a weekly show and not the same schedule as in the past.

Kinda ironic, you slam Wil for searing every moment he can, but every third or fourth word you said was "****"

I liked seeing Jessica back but I hope Wil is dropped and the swearing needs to go...it does not fit that style of show..it's distracting..just because there is no restrictions on webcasts does not mean you should..the swearing distracted from the review.

The Cursing fits shows like Diggnation but not Indigital.

It is not as if this wasn't reported dummy! I will miss idana Mizota but hey at least we got to see here on Indigital 4 the lost show. She will be missed and i wish her all the luck in her future venues. I'm just glad Inditigak is up and rolling

Great look new look but it kinda feels like Revison3 got the look for the forums and site from Mutant Mods ad for PC perperhials hahah all this greeen and black hahah

I'm sorry you feel that way...Diane and Andrew's busy schedules made it difficult for them to continue with the show. For me, my time is 100% dedicated to Revision3 projects.

Personally I like the wide variety of personalities in the new version (of course I'm biased). It was the first time we worked together, so we'll need some time to gel. It's always difficult trying not to step on each other during discussions when you've never worked together...especially with three people. That comes with time.

I'd say give us a chance, but it looks like you've made up your mind...I totally understand. Having lived through all the changes at TechTV and G4, I know it's impossible to please everyone. We do our best and hope.

Cheers,

Hahn

I am also one of the people who liked the 'old' Indigital better, but unlike Venom, i'm not going to flame the new format. You and Diane had great chemistry and I really enjoyed all the episodes. The new one seems a little, I dunno...I mean im not going to judge yet. But giving my first impression of the 'new' indigital, although still a very good show just seemed like a little overproduced. Eh I don't even know if thats the right word. I dunno i'll have to give it time, but Like i said, I am in no means putting down the new show...and actually that's what it feels like. And thats what it is, a new show and I'll just have to let it grow on me.

Get off your high horse and grow up. The show was informative and funny, and I really enjoyed it. InDigital is only in its fifth episode. It's not like they went and switched things up after years of being produced.

Big fan of the old Tech TV..like many here, while I personally never cared for Wil I can understand choosing him for an add on to the show given his passion in the tech field and was very glad to see Jessica back ...I do however ask that the cursing be cut out...just because there is no FCC and people feel they can curse does not mean they should..it fits shows like diggnation or the broken(since they are for for a set demagraphic of more teens to college kids) but not a gadget review show like Indigital that should be set for a wider audience...it distracts from the reviews.

I was a little shocked at first to see Wil but after a couple of minutes I realized he was pretty good and then settled down to watch the show. When it comes to his potty mouth, I don't see an issue with it. I think it's just because this is IPTV and that isn't held to the same restraints as normal TV. I kinda like the free flowing nature of the chat. I don't swear all the time either, but can turn the air blue if the occasion warrants it.

Jessica just gets an internet favorite "meh" from me, I remember her from TechTv and she never did anything for me then. And I don't have high hopes now, so work it girl.

Good luck and know....I'll be watching.

It's good to see Indigital back Hahn.
I do miss Diane, but it's understandable that she has do what she has to do.
I liked the episode and I will give it a chance to get used to the new co-hosts. Maybe just tell Wil fine he can swear, but he doesn't have do it every single time. It' s just immature and stupid and it doesn't fit into what indigital is about. Sure, Diane swore(ep. 2 I think), but for like only a second. Anyway good work and hope to see more episodes. Anyway Diane can be a special guest when she's not busy? Also anyway former Techtv personality Chi-Lan can get an appearance? I liked her on fresh gear and I watch her show on HGTV. Glad you're back on REV3.

I don't like Will, and personally I don't like that he swears in the show, I look at it as an information show, not a show for talking how you wish. Reporters are supposed to act a certain way, and he doesn't do it. It turns it from a great informative kid safe show, to an informative show that may or may not be family friendly. I liked Diane much more than the new female, and I liked the old guy better than will. I liked the older versions much better than the new version. It's just alright, not like the other ones. If I want to watch people be funny and may swear, I would watch Diggnation, I don't want to watch InDigital to watch Will try and be funny and do poor at his job.

I am sorry she is no longer on the show. She could give Wil a run for his money in the four letter department. The episode with her in her car was classic. My son thought I was watching a porno by listening to the audio. Not a complaint. I like the idea of not censoring themselves.

I agree. InDigital used to be great, but unfortunately now it doesn't have the same quality that it used to when the previous hosts were there. I realized that in less than a minute into the episode. Hahn is the only good host left. The other two seem kind of inexperienced in this kind of thing.

hahn...you have a good group no matter what anybody says, it's working.

i could tell there were a few jitters, i don't know why, this is your show, do it with total authority or let someone else take over it's interrupting everything. you perform better by youself, maybe talk behind a desk like the interviewer not the same as the others. i know there's supposed to be a team but stick out as the leader more in some way it will change the way you're perceived and you'll change. (i'm serious)

finally, camera angles, when you go to another story?, don't let the 2nd camera see you from the side but look at the 2nd camera as if this is something else, you know what i mean?

i'll see you the next episode.

You can put out a show every day, but if its crap then who wants to watch it? I loved Wil Wheaton on Arena and that show went down hill after they forced him out. Wil was almost high or something during Ep 5.

But he is just not right for InDigital, IMHO. Jessica Corbin, although she was on tech tv, was just horrible as a co-host in Ep 5.

They should bring back Diane and maybe clean up Wil.

Give them a chance - InDigital is going to be great.

Jessica Corbin is also a great addition - she starts off a little slower, but as soon as she is comfortable, she'll really shine and her personality will come through. She was the same way when she was first on TechTV, but after a short while, she relaxed and delivered some great material and in a way that was very professional, but also fun.

Personally, and perhaps one has to be a bit older to see it, I think she has a very rare and special enigmatic quality that is all but irresistible - very few women posses it - a natural appeal that is infectious. The best way I can describe it, is a woman that somehow manages to make every man think she's taken with him - without offending anyone of them, or it ever becoming inappropriate.

I say give her a chance - she'll surprise you. You'll first notice her come on with a short, almost nervous laughter that becomes powerful - it's hard to fake that kind of emotion and I think in her case, she's entirely genuine.

Um...you do realize that the show is less than a year old? The sum total of inDigital including, apparently, the episodes you don't like, is 7 episodes, which constitutes about one third of a season of a "regular" TV show.

The show doesn't have a stable cast or a real set yet...there's no such thing as "used to". As far as the company that's sponsoring it is concerned, every episode is probably a one-off. Once they get a real viewership and are able to get some kind of equilibrium, then see if you like what they have come up with.
