Also, I usually have it set to stay logged in forever. Yet, I always have to log back in every now and then. Someone should fix that.

I have to login every 3 or so times, even though I have the box checked. But, if I go to the main site, and then the forums (either by link or coming directly) I'm logged out.

I usually have to log back in about every other time I open the page.

Me too, several times a day, even if I take to long writing a long reply to a post.

I have a funny problem. It's really specific, and I can't figure out where the trouble is.

When I use Firefox on a laptop from the open wifi at work, I don't stay logged in. If I use my office computer there's no problem, If I use IE on my laptop theres no problem. And, if I use the wifi at home Firefox works fine. If I delete the cookies, I can log in for one page then Firefox forgets.

So, I figure it's a problem with how Firefox is saving cookies while interacting with the WAP at work. Maybe I should just go Opera.

I do occassionally lose my login though ... but mainly after I close my Opera connection.

Searching is OK (I use it frequently on Rev3).

Rarely use quicklinks - so no comment there.

If you are looking at Opera, the 9.5 beta releases are very stable (unless you use the email client).

If you leave the forums and go to the main revision3 page it will log you out, never had a problem getting logged out cept when that happens.

Well, Your experience is not mine.

However, my problem is so specific, I think it's just random software interaction. The open WAP at work are locked-down to prevent students from abusing them. The problem is only in Firefox and only while using this open WAP. When I clear cookies it solves the problem temporarily. My guess is that the company that writes the security software for the wireless hot spot didn't test the software fully on Firefox. The software obviously looking at the data packets before it reroutes them. I'm wondering how many other little errors there are that I just don't notice.

It's irritating, but I doubt there anything to be done about it.
