Apart from the most obvious similarities (three guys discussing comics on a podcast).
If you look at the group, one of them has great sideburns, there is a hipster guy and one guy who is a bit more macho than the other guys.

I have also noticed a couple of things in the last weeks.
The guy with sideburns dropped the f-bomb a lot in a recent episode.
Around the same time “the bell” appeared “Speed round” was introduced.
And this week one of the guys was missing.

So are you guys actually the same people or is it just a different version of the same characters, like Superman and Sentry?

Ha. I'm sure when josh regains the ability to laugh he'll enjoy you calling him a hipster. Josh and his silly hipster jeans.

The best part of this post is the fact that you broke the guys down into such weird basic groups...

He's not a hipster. He just wants to be. I hate Hipsters.....
Where's Mckelvie at?

The best part of this post is the fact that you broke the guys down into such weird basic groups...That are you talking about? Those are just the only basic groups. Go to any high school and you'll see a table with sideburns, a table that is "slightly macho" (not all the way), and a table that could be considered a little more hipster than the other two.

Josh is actually so anti-Hipster that he had his appendix removed when he discovered that it was a hipster.

We did a little bit of joking around about this when we were on their show (http://www.ifanboy.com/archive/weblog/ifanboy_on_the.html).

I like that Josh & Ron are perceived to be not as manly as Conor. Haha.

See what digging Sandman & SiP gets you?

I like that Josh & Ron are perceived to be not as manly as Conor. Haha.

See what digging Sandman & SiP gets you?But Ron doesn't. I guess it's just his man-love of Morrissey.

No, no. I meant Ron digs SiP (somewhat girly) and Josh digs on Sandman (somewhat fey and sensitive). Or at least those are the stereotypes I was joking about.

Joke /= Explanation

Joke /= ExplanationOops. For some reason I thought Ron disliked SiP. I got the joke part though. Apparently I just felt the need to ruin it.

Oh, the old "in the same room at the same time"-trick.

So speaking about our ifanboy with sideburns who drops the F-bomb a lot. I was going through the First TPB of Preacher the other day (six months ago more likely) when I came across the Coroner who gets Cassies (the vampire guy, can’t spell his name at the moment) and laugh, he looks just like Ron! Sideburns and all! Thought it was funny, dont know if anyone else pointed this out before.

:eek::eek:I knew he liked it. He's mentioned it enough. But for some reason, I was thinking of the grab bag video episode and thought it was him who said he disliked it. Obviously, that makes no sense, and obviously, it was you. Oops.

I'm all man, and I will fight you. I'll fight you all.

I think we're about this close to putting a ban on the word hipster on the forum. I can tell you one thing. I live in New York City, and I'm a hipster, they've drastically lowered their standards. I don't even know where to buy their clothes. Hell, these days I'm even afraid to go into an Urban Outfitters.

I would say that outside of these surface similarities, our shows have very little in common with Pulp Secret. All respect due, and all that.

I hate to be the guy to say it, but that's an exceptionally...Euro-American-centric high school you're describing. :)

Can we get through one thread without the word hipster being used? my lord..

Anyhow - I'm not even going to dignify the questioning of manhood as it pertains to the comics or music you read or listen to.

while I read and love SIP and listen to Morrissey (alot), I also love the X-Men and old school hardcore like Minor Threat and the Gorilla Biscuits

so go figure.

Sorry, did not mean any harm, just thought it was a bit funny.
I retract all my previous statements and claim the opposite.

They do. But it all seems rote to us that cut our teeth on the second wave.

LSF, why bother? I already got those Antioch Arrow records.
