When looking at revision3's shows, it has a great deal of variety. Lots of different topics to choose from, which is great.

Revision3 was formed from the people who brought you The Screensavers on TechTV.

It is great that everybody who is now working at Revision3 has there own little niche show, like alex/kevin w/ the news show Diggnation, martin with Infected and Webdrifter, patrick with tekzilla and systm, etc.

But what if they also went and started producing a show that was more Screensavers-esque, and brought back some of the topics and discussions that involved more than 2 people.

They used to have sarah, dan, kevin, pat, yoshi, and whoever else all involved at the same time, which I think gave a better platform for open discussion about a subject so that a lot of different aspects could be covered. I'm not saying that it would be those people, but it really worked well back on cable television, and it basically created the fanbase Revision3 has today.

I'm not sure how much exposure Revision3 is actually getting by itself, but would it hurt to return to a show format that created this popularity? Sure, an internet tv show isn't going to get nearly the exposure of a cable tv show (yet), but it may cover a lot of broader topics better, and may be more appealing to the people that aren't as tech-inclined.

Some of you may consider Diggnation to be Revision3's main show, but if you do, you're only looking at a show that covers news stories. Sure, the discussion is fun, but its only 2 people, and one of them is alex's strong personality. If you compare the Screensavers to Diggnation, you'll see almost no resemblence except for the faces on the screen. My point is that a show like the Screensavers was able to capture a broader audience than Diggnation can, and would thus increase viewership.

Thoughts?

How about a 2hour show each week?
You could watch each of the shows back to back.

I think you just described Tekzilla. It's still a little early to call it a TSS replacement but I think it's on the right track. Also, since it launched Tekzilla has had several old TSS people make appearances. Give it time...

They're building that set for something.

On this topic, I personally disagree. I think the strength of Rev3 lies in it's diversity and the fact that the sum of it's parts is greater than the whole. If it wasn't, all these hosts would still be on The Screen Savers and that show would be around still. When you get right down to it, TSS was a tech-geek version of The View.

I will agree with Phatty that Tekzilla is the show that Rev3 is positioning to become the next iteration of the Screen Savers. I think that the Tekzilla we are watching now will be nothing like the tekzilla in 6 months, or a year. Rev3 has a lot of grand ideas for the show in the future that involve (I think) a live audience, possibly both in the studio and over the web. Sounds like TSS to me...

I agree that the lineup is a nice variety, but I do like the idea of rev3 having a main show. And you are right. The ARE building that set for something.

Really Diggnation is the big one if it wasn't for that then Rev3 wouldn't be that popular.

Well, "SYSTM" was the flagship show. But, "diggnation" is the most watched.

Speaking of Systm, month of MAME is the best thing they could do for that show, I'm pumped about seeing the rest of the episodes.

Might be true, but that still hurts.

Also, I agree with Month of MAME. *drools*

I disagree with having a main show. Some will be more popular then others so there's no need to have a main show. The "main" show will be whichever is the most popular. Also, I believe it's a bad idea to (exclusively) associate Rev3 with a show rather then an idea/philosophy/whatever. You don't think as FOX as the Simpsons channel, well bad example but I think I got my point across.

Nice one but I was expecting Hackers on Steroids (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DUxW gRY1I_SI&ei=_LM0R6_WCpigeq6huY8P&usg=AFQjCNF8tOtuJjDST9u114FKkLKsBvX31w&sig2=3BXOiyRyizaZy7M_qLDDIA). It's not just FOX either. I think that's enough from the off-topic mobile.
