So Harmonix just released a game for iPods called Phase. It's a similar premise to Guitar Hero except you are able to use any song in your music library. You use rewind, the middle button and fast forward for the "frets" and you sometimes need to swivel the wheel back and forth for flowing patterns. The game analyzes the songs and the levels that result are very good beat and note wise. I can finally play the Final Countdown in a Guitar heroesque setting.

How are you liking the game so far? Was temped to download it before wasn't sure how well it'd play.

Yeah, I saw it and thought it would be awesome. I downloaded it and yes, it was awesome. :) I love being able to play ANY song in it... Guitar Hero needs that feature!

The only thing that sucks about it is that songs have to be on a special phase playlist in order to play them on your iPod, so if it's not on there, can't play it! Nonetheless, nice simple game that really fits well with the iPod. Now... if only we can attach the 360 guitar to it somehow for real portable Guitar Hero...

I think that having to have the songs on a special playlist is a great idea cause I don't want to have my TWiT & other audio podcasts podcasts showing up in my game!
That and Some people have Thousands of songs on there iPod. I'm not sure how the menus work but I wouldn't want to surf through all that to find a song to play!

Guess I'm going to have to try phase out!

I wish they would have made this for the iPod Touch as well. We have no games, and yet Apple doesn't was us to hack the damn thing. Geez!
