It' tricky outside of your Batman, X-men, Spider-man type books. But I'd tolerate those books being grouped together. To a degree.

Labor, I know you're sticking to your guns on the whole Non-Publisher sorting, so I had a few questions about your ABC style.

-Would Event books be sorted that way as well? Civil War would be in the C's?
-Would you take a standard sorting, where say "The Amazing SpiderMan" would go under A or T?
-Should there be a chart or perhaps a pamphlet, to tell new readers where they can find the different "Cyclop's books"?
-How often should the racks be "cleaned up"? Because it seems like monthly, if not weekly, new books are coming out and old ones are going away. When you get a new B title, you'd have to shuffle the rest of the books down.

Yep. This is how Secret Headquarters does it.

-Civil War was in C
-Amazing Spider-Man is in A
-No pamphlet. You're assumed to be smart enough to figure out where to find Cyclops and if you can't, they're friendly enough to help and answer questions.
-Racks are cleaned up weekly (Wednesday morning) and stuff is moved around. There are little signs that say "New" and "Last Week" that are movable as well. If there's a space, a noteworthy trade will occasionally go up. Previous weeks' issues of a new book occasionally (but not always) sit behind the current week's issues (which I've found really convenient on occasion) if there's space.

Given that comics are arranged by title, even in by pub systems, all one would have to know is the title. Comics sorted A-Z by title is the least complicated.

A quick glance that all the comics on the shelf are A-Z, one could match up the title with it's respective lettering. You do the same for books, only it's by author, A-Z. There is a built in expectation level in such a sorting system.
.

Except there isn't. If you go to a book store, you can expect that most stuff will be sorted by author. But travel books, for example, are usually sorted by the region they cover. Books are sorted in a way that makes the most sense to make it easier for their customers. Now I get it that you have a hard time dealing with this, but I just think that most of the rest of the world isn't like that. Everybody understands that all stores have some organizational scheme.
