Most of the ad scans are out...I'm in the market for a new monitor and there was an attractive offer at CC for a $330AR Samsung 24" 245BW (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001234), but the reviews haven't been too favorable, imo. There were also some cheap laptops, I might end up buying one since I need a basic notebook for school...

*grumbles* Christmas is just a reason to buy crap for people when I don't want to. I need to save up a ton of money so I can move to Canada, but have to deal with the holidays.

NZ have had a lot of emigration, so are looking at reversing the brain drain.

i mixed them on purpose, but now that i think about it.............THEY ARE THE SAME PERSON. it makes so much sense the whos down in whoville rejected the grinch then kick him out of the valley. forced out of his home and penniless the grinch found his way to the big city and sesame street where he now lives in a trash can!

If you are planning on getting one, I would wait until January. A 16gb model will be released.

Then don't buy anything. I stopped "celebrating" these holidays because it's all commercialized. It's a commercialized version of a secular holiday that is a bastardization of a Christian holiday which in turn was a bastardization of pagan winter festivals and used to ease their conversion to Christianity which was the favored holiday since you didn't have to work as much (agriculture) during the winter.

Frankly, I like the idea of celebrating because you don't have to work anymore. It's like summer vacation in the winter. Best of all, you get to relax so much you don't need to bother getting gifts.

On a serious note, you should never feel like you "have" to give gifts. You should *want* to. If you feel you have to, you are celebrating the commercial aspects instead of the good ones.

Best of all, you get to relax so much you don't need to bother getting gifts. My wife and I like Thanksgiving. Its what Christmas *should* be about. Not pseudo religious mumbo jumbo wrapped around Hallmark moments, Christmas Story reruns, and toy sales.

As an Aussie, Christmas was always a special time of year - summer holidays. We had Christmas parties, then school broke up for the year (end of school year), and 10-14 days later it was Christmas, and a week later New Years, then the rest of the summer vacation before returning to school after Australia Day (like July 4) at the end of January. It was a great time of year.
