Do you usually tell people what would you like to get for birthday, or do they usually bring you surprise gift... and what do you usually get for birthdays?
I am usually spoiled when it comes to birthdays :)

Large birthdays gifts are for children. I usually ask for a nice meal and a cake... maybe something nice to drink.

I usually just drop obvious hints and basically tell them what I want. They're gonna buy for me anyway so it might as well be something I like. (Usually tech or video game related.)

I rarely accept gifts for my birthday. When I have the scratch, I actually buy friends gifts for my birthday.
I used to do a lot of unbirthdays when I had money.
i ask for something that is important to me but does not necessarily cost a lot of money
my harvard dictionary of music was a birthday gift
i lost my ballet slippers in a move and my new pair was a xmas gift
i like to give gifts to my friends that are special for them
i used to be a hair model for vidal sassoon till my hair got too long so for my female friend who is trying to grow her hair i arranged for her to be a hair model
it was a gift free for the asking
it was the knowing what she needed to get what she wanted that was the real gift

we were thinking of a nice basket of bubbles and shampoos and aromatherapy candles for you :D
