while wqatching this weeks show i came to a realization, video podcasts are fundamentally different than any other video formats and more like a book, a book is like a one sided conversation where we imagine what the writer is trying to convey so a really engrossing book in that you almost forget that you are reading words and you visualize what the writer is imagining when they write the book
in normal television or even shows like tekzilla or infected they are talking out to the world but are speaking to an audience so there isnt a one on one conversation going on so its more like reading a magazine.
the gazette is more like a conversation between you and the viewer on a 1 on 1 format and when done correctly it is like you are talking to the viewer directly
when this is done on a television it is generally across a room and that puts up a barrier, but when you watch revision3 video you are generally sitting only a few feet from the video and audio feed which is like the same distance from someone when you are talking to them
the danger in this format is that people could get a little too familliar with the people making the shows and could lead to stalkerish behavior.
