I'm stoked to get some Sandman opinions in the near/distant future.

Loved the episode. Glad to see you felt that way about Transmet Ron.

But seriously, how the hell are you in this episode? Did you guys just stockpile video shows to last until next summer, at which point Ron will come back to record more?

The CGI Ron is pretty good, isn't it? Very lifelike.

Stop asking for the 11 herbs and spices! The secrets must remain!

CGI Ron is fantastic. I hope we get to see test footage of Ron in the motion capture suit with all the ping pong balls attached to it.

Conor-bot on the other hand....not so convincing.

11 herbs and spices? Is that code? Did they just paint one of those Colonel Sanders statues to look like Ron? I MUST KNOW!

We said nothing would change as far as the show was concerned, and we utterly meant it.

I think we're all curious, not telling us adds to the mystique (my guess is he flies up every few weeks and they stockpile a few)

Ron records the voice for CGI Ron every thursday night. He transmits the file to Josh and Conor via YouSendIt.com. Josh and Conor react to a green ping pong ball on a stick, which is digitally replaced by CGI Ron in post production. For shots of Ron falling off of things, they use a soft mannequin which Josh has borrowed from his aunt's department store. Ron left behind 8 shirts to use as photo references, and for costuming the dummy.

Honestly I can't tell the difference.

That's because you aren't an animation expert, paper. I look at the CG Ron and get that same dead skin, Beowulf, Polar Express vibe. Seriously, doesn't he totally creep you out?

GREAT show. I was not a fan of the totebag set up but this show was lots of fun. Just on an entertainment level. As to content, I realize that I'd really like X-men First Class too. Both by concept and by Conor's enthusiasm and Josh's heartfelt, if muted, back up.

I enjoy Jack Flash although it was so sporadic it drove me crazy. I love the wacky concepts and the art. I 'm split as to whether I'll buy the collected trade. I trade out Kane because of it, liked what he was doing with art but I agree the story was non-involving.

An excellent gift for any young ones you really want to get into the medium. On that not, I, like Conor, regularly pick it up for the same reasons a kid would love it, plus the added fanboy references. This really should have been Ultimate X-Men.

But I guess the budget wouldn't allow for both CGI Ron and Gordon ;).

Did Gordon move to? Where oh where will they find two Colonel Sanders statues?

Conor ironically named the proprietary CGI Ron software HunterSoft.

Ron (CGI or real), really glad you liked Exterminators. I had begun to think that I was the only one on the forum to read and love Exterminators. It's a great book.

That's unclear. Josh is, and always was, a pooka (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pooka).

I second that. Although it sounds like none of the guys liked it as much as I did. I remember I latched onto that book in '89 and was on board for the whole run. It'll be interesting to see this discussion of it now.

I must have Exterminators :)

I read volume one a while back, but dammit, I might have to stop on the way home and pick up 2 and 3 now.

I liked the first volume, but it alone didn't make me feel compelled to rush right out and get the next one. Now I'm thinking maybe I need to read that second volume.

I will say this about The Exterminators - after I read the first three trades it made me jumpy for days. I was seeing bugs out of the corner of my eyes, like EVERYWHERE.

Damn bugs.

I picked up the annual, whenever that was, and it was awesome. Then when the next issue came out I flipped through and didn't see the little shorts and was so dissapointed.

See?! How many comics have that visceral feel. That's something special. Not necessarily enjoyable...

If there was a snake version of Exterminators, it'd probably kill me. If I even see a snake on television it turns every sock, shadow, and fern I see for the next week into a rattlesnake orgy. Absolute, wriggling fear.
