Too early to call. I always get nervous seeing Godland and Walking Dead on the shipping lists until Tuesday night.
But right now? Action Comics and Captain America are equally anticipated.
Also, is it me or did anyone else forget that the Halo comic was still going? Seems like aaagggesss, since the first. Jeeze Lousie.

Ex Machina and Walking Dead are it for me. Oh, and I can't forget Ultimate Vision. =p

Yeah, there's very little point to looking at that list until 5pm EST on Monday.

Makes it seem somewhat irrelevant at this point. But I'm still getting it to look at the pretty pictures...

I'm out with Flash this week. I don't like the art and the writing isn't grabbing me. Maybe if it gets good, I'll jump back on. But I'm going to need to hear you dudes talk it up a bit before then.

Don't know how long Waid is on Flash. But recall an interview with Waid where he said his DC commitments were through the end of the year.

Not a huge week for me this week (good, since I bought Black Dossier last week). I guess I'll mirror the sentiment for Captain America. Hellblazer's been consistently good since Diggle took over, too.
Ooh, and I'm looking forward to the new Hawaiian Dick #1.

It looks like it could be cool, however if any of my friends caught me reading a book with that title, well I'd get crap for weeks

It is a cool book -- you'd be missing out. Don't let your friend dictate what you read! ;)
On a similar note, I have this secret fear that my son, who is 7, will talk about the books that Daddy reads at school one day, and he'll include "American Virgin." And i just know that's going to be tranlsated into "My dad reads a magazine called 'American Virgins."
And oh that will not be good.
Sub-thread proposal: comic book titles that you dont' wanna be caught reading! In the top spot: Giant-Size Man-Thing #1!

Otherwise, 52 vol4 and Umbrella Academy.

Really small week for me, thankfully. For this week, New X-Men is my most anticipated, however, I missed a few issues last week and New Avengers is overall what I'm looking forward to most.

Cooke's only got 2 more issues, right? 11 and 12? I'm gonna ride it out. Even though it's not a book that I really consistently "look forward to," there's always a level of skill there that I appreciate.

Yeah, I gotta admit -- I haven't been a regular X reader in a while (I'm sporadic whenever I like the creative team), but I decided to commit to the whole 13-part cross-over just for the hell of it. Now I'm kinda looking forward to it, in a summer blockbustery kinda way.

It's going to be another fighting with my fiance on who gets to read it in the car ride home this week. Last week I won, because he already read half in the store, but this week is definitley a toss up. Pray for me.

Can I pick up the Grendel this week, having never read a Grendel book before?
Absolutely, my understanding is that this is a self-contained story about Hunter Rose, the first Grendel. So there won't be a lot of back story to worry about.
All you need to know is that Hunter Rose is a professional criminal with a james bond mystique.
Ugh, james bond mystique, what the hell am I on about? That doesn't do Grendel justice at all!

Personally, I'd at least pick up Grendel: Devil by the Deed, if you've got the funds. It sounds like the new mini can be read alone, but I'd start with the original tale of Hunter Rose -- just so you can see how it all started.
Devil by the Deed is pretty slim, too. List price is what, maybe $10-12?

This week there is little doubt about it: Goon: Chinatown. Even though this is an ogn and not a comic, it wins hands down.
