View Full Version : I want the spoiler cam back

Now that they tell us before-hand what they're going to be discussing and everyone who really wants to can go out and see what they're going to talk about on the show I'd really like the Spoiler Cam to come back.
Basically, its happened several times recently, where they've been talking about something and they start to talk about some point and then someone goes, "You know what, we can't really talk about that, we'll talk about it after."
But what about me?! What if I watched the movie just like you guys! I wanna hear what you were gonna say! You just can't start talking about something and then just exclude us from the rest of it man!
It's like, why bother having us watch something your gonna talk about, if you aren't gonna talk about anything we actually saw. Without talking about specific parts of the movie, its just a review, not a discussion. And TRS is about great discussion.
I felt that the spoiler cam was perfect for everyone. If you saw the movie, you could stay and listen, if you didn't you could skip over it, and if you watched the movie later, you could come back and watch the part you skipped.
There's no way for us to "come back later" and watch the part of the discussion that you cut out completely from the show...
So in conclusion, I'd like to the the return of the spoiler cam and the cownose ray is an important part of the ecosystem of the Chesapeake Bay. Thank you.

I agree with you.
I liked it, too!

I see what your saying, but my biggest problem with the spoiler cam was usually i haven't seen the movie they are reviewing, and only go see it if they give a good review or not.
I wouldn't mind the spoiler cam, if Steve put in something like 'Spoiler cam: skip to 17:42' if you haven't seen the movie. I hated having to skip around and guess when spoiler cam was going to end, now the episodes just flow better and i get my full hour-ish long TRS fix.

I agree that what they call "spoilers" did spark some great conversation between the guys and even here on the forums...But, I don't have a problem with them talking about certain parts of the movie that they liked w/o it being called a spoiler. I think they use the term "spoiler" a little loosely. Now, if they say, what part of the ending did you like? Sure, that's a spoiler...But I can't really remember a time when the guys told obvious spoilers. I remember them talking about sequences within a scene and things like that, but anyone can see or hear that stuff from previews/reviews...So I say, feel free to discuss a movie and talk about what you feel is important, that's what makes the movie section great.

I miss spoiler Cam. It should totally come back. They could totally say at some point. "Lets talk spoilers" then Steve throws a graphic up that says if you don't want to get spoiled jump 2 17:42. then it cuts back to there spoiler. a 3 second graphic. maybe a voice that says "SPOILER ROOM" for the mp3ers out there.
I just miss it. they seem to tip toe threw the movie, they use to really really talk about it. (Don't worry guys the show is still f'n rad) But i miss the solid talk instead of "that thing at the end was whoa.. like awesome"

A better way to time it would just tell us how long the spoiler cam will be up for and those who don't want to hear it can turn down the volume for that amount of time.

What if instead of the spoiler cam, they film the discussion afterwards and post as a spoiler review separate of the main show.
So they do their thing, fists hit and then continue to discuss still filming and then Steve can just put up the whole thing. Frankly I would be okay if the background was a greenscreen and poor Steve didn't end up with more work on his hands. That way the full discussion is like a behind the scenes spoiler-rific bonus ep kinda thing.
Steve doesn't end up with a ton of more work.
People who have issues with it don't have to watch.
All us addicts get more TRS.
And they get more download numbers.
Just saying.

I want spoiler-cam back because I liked the red border. It gave the show a more dynamic feeling (and I liked the spoiler-filled discussion).

Diane: That would be awesome...Kind of a deleted scenes moment or something like that...or, they could edit the spoilers and add them after the show as a more in depth discussion...It's a win-win situation:D

to be 100% honest they could tell me the ending of a movie without the spolier cam and it's not gonna change anything for me. Until I see it with my own eyes it doesn't matter. I'm down with either way.
Though I will say I hate when the start a convo that sounds like it would be good then say "Oh wait after the show" I'm like damn now I really want to hear it.
I agree, there are some movies or shows that I would not watch anyhow (lack of money and/or time) and the spoilers are cool cause they give me the gist of the story and make it so that I dont have to actually watch said show or movie. If it's something I wanna watch I'll fast forward (like I did for the prestige from the geekdrome - trs boys show) then go back after and hear there take on certain points in the story.

I am the same way. I read the entire script for the 6th season finale of Buffy a couple of days before it aired and I still cried relentlessly throughout all of it. Come to think of it I still cry when I see that ep. Knowing the ending doesn't prevent me from enjoying a well done piece. In fact knowing the ending might help if the ending is weak, otherwise I might be ticked. This way it isn't a surprise.

See just another reason why you \m/ Rock \m/ Diane. Did Anakin Flip when his name was dropped yesterday? I haven't read through the whole episode thread yet, so I don't know if you said anything about it haha.

Yes he did. First he jumped around for a few minutes and then strutted. And everytime he talked to anyone he mentioned that he is famous now with everybody who watches TRS. He made me show his grandma on my ipod both times he has been mentioned.
He also wanted me to add their tags to the x-box so he could play with them but they are all filled up.
They are spoiling him rotten. Soon he is going to start calling them Uncle Jeff, Uncle Alex and Uncle Dan. Steve will be a hard one since he already has two crazy Uncle Steves.

I totally agree with both of you. I want them to tell me that there is an ****ing awesome twist and get some insight to there thoughts. On Yip Yip jeff really wanted to continue.
releaseing it seperate would mean more work perhaps and also might make rev3 mad cause of more bandwidth use or something..I dont know tech stuff that much

That's great. Kid sounds like he has it pretty good. Being uncle anything is always the best as well. My uncle was my hero and hopefully my neices and nephews feel the same about me.

Reminds me of a time when a few friends went to see the Village and I was busy. We met up later and they were talking about it, but then they looked at me, and was like, sorry don't wanna spoil it. I said, "That's okay, didn't plan on seeing it anyway. If I was I would've done something to avoided getting spoiled."

I like spoiler cam. It doesn't 'mean' anything to me, but I like it's use and the fact that it lets the conversation flow freely.

I do agree with keeping the spoiler cam. I will admit, since having a child, Ive fallen off on ALOT of movies that I want to see. The spoiler cam works because if its something I didnt want to see anyway, I just watch thru it, but if its a movie I want to see, I just turn down the volume and wait til the spoiler cam goes off and turn it back up.
Just my 2 cents.

Just throwing in my vote for a "spoiler cam - ends at 18:25" border, and they should clearly save spoilers for that specific section. Then I wont have to worry so much about hearing things and end up skipping through 1/3rd the radnosity because of it.

Having a separate download seems like it would be more work for Steve rather than less.
