Why do they like crappy movies!!!

I heard Beowolf sucks from alot of people, I refuse to see it. Why do they think it is good.

Next alot of the movies they talked about were really weird and not good, I didn't like Magnolia it was just well jumbled awkwardness, Constantine not Keanos best but Shai Labeouf did a great job. For me good movies with CGI sequences I saw recently were Live free or die hard and Transformers. I thought the movie Intacto sucked, I rented that waste of time the dubbing was off. It seems like all 3 of them pick bad movies, I think out of all three Dan, Alex, and Jeff, Jeff picks the best movies and he is usually misses the target becuase he goes with Alex who is like throwing him bad movies left and right.

I think they are off on games as well. SMG is awesome they seemed to not really like the Wii which IMO is more next gen control wise then the other 2 systems and people who think a good game is just "how cool the graphics look" need to go back to school and learn about things such as replay value, controls, and the thought. I mean to me the more they put into the graphics I often find they cheated me somewhere else, like the game is shorter, they don't give you many multiplayer levels, or overall it isn't as open ended as they claimed, that is the flaw of Assasins Creed. I saw that coming too, every clip seemed the exact same, all the cities look the same, it looked linear.

Now why do I watch the show? I watch the show for them to tell me something interesting that I didn't know about an actor or a director, that is interesting or I watch the show to have them tell me about a movie that sometimes I do like.

Overall I think the show only lacks 1 thing and that is women, I think the show would be alot more interesting if they added women who tried to talk about romantic comedies or the female aspect of the film, I think the expressions on Alex, Dan, and Jeff's faces would be priceless. Doesn't Alex's girlfriend do some kinda a girl film review thing or something, have them be the girls, just an idea.

Anyways overall I would probably put more clips of what your talking about, I think it's hard to watch for a long time when your talking about systems I don't own or games that I can't see what your talking about. Basically if you ramble on add pictures or videos to get me to keep listening.

Keep doing it and switch it up a bit every now and then.

Aren't you forgetting that this is just a show where 4(yes i included you Steve) friends pretty much sit around and talk about what they enjoy,don't enjoy, what they are in to and what they aren't. They aren't trying to force you to agree with their opinions on which system is better,which movie is better etc. It seems like to me you at trying to force your opinion on them and make them change theirs for what you like instead of what they like.

I could understand if you had a problem with the filming or something like that. But because you don't like the movies they review or the games they review or their opinions on a system,tv show, movie or game you want them to change all there likes and dislikes for you?

Do people ever tell you that you don't seem to recognize the concept of difference in opinion being just that, not difference in quality of opinion?

The sooner you realize that the world is full of difference in perception and outlook, the sooner you'll come to terms with that agonizing feeling of people always being wrong when they don't think like you do, and/or think something else. Okay, I understand that your opinion, but I can't disagree more.

Women, really? As a gal, I am totally fine with the all guy cast. I watch girls on film for a gal perspective.

I listen to 4 movie podcasts, and all 4 liked or loved Beowolf. I don't know who you listened to, but what it really shows is that different people will like different things. If you really care about a movie, you should see it for yourself and judge it based on your likes and dislikes.

As for Transformers and Live Free and Die Hard, well, they were great rides, but overall okay movies. I like big booms, and well I have a feeling that if my sister has her way Bruce Willis will someday be my brother-in-law, but they were not spectacular.

And you didn't like Constantine, really? The soundtrack kicked, the graphics were beautiful and it was closest thing to acting I think Keanu has done that I have seen him in. Plus the take on Gabriel was beautiful. Don't get me wrong, Christopher Walken scarred me for life as Gabriel, but this was a close second.

Just remember people will like different things. If we all liked the same things, the world would be amazingly boring.

I think the guys strike a good balance between some of the more arty films and the big commercial flicks. I mean, they did have a very long period where they were talking about a new comic book movie almost once a week and usually comic book movies appeal to the broadest audience possible.

We're talking about 3 guys just talkin geek stuff in front of a camera. All three of these guys are also in the film film industry to some extent. I'd hardly say it's a surprise that they are interested in film as an artform.

Also, Live Free or Die Hard?... Maybe the series should just die already.

There has been at least one of these a week from someone new for like the last month to month and half or so. Odd. It has never occurred to me to join a forum to complain about the actual program. Let me get in more detail to respond to everyone,

1.I don't see movies if alot of people say the movie sucks, after watching many movies I've come to the conclusion people know if overall a movie sucks or doesn't.

2.Now if you see the TRS as just a show of 3 guys talking about what they are interested in then I guess you could call it perfect. But I think the idea of a show is to build an audience and honestly I think the show would be a ton better if the following were talked about less (I'm talking balance) : comics and sci-fi.

3.I think a few people are under the impression that a good movie is just taste. Well what about clearly defined traits such as art detail, cinematography, the score, the writing, and detail of special effects, to name a few? The point is you could give me any movie even one that I don't typically watch like a chick flick and I could tell you if it is a good movie or not and be around the same score as most critics. Meaning that regardless of what you believe it is a taste thing, scores are based on a pretty specific set of standards, this goes across to games too. I'd just like them to talk about movies outside their interest zone. I read the newspaper or watch podcasts to hear what critics think, not what my friends think because I could just ask them.

4.Overall Danny T is the only value added by watching TRS. He does a great job of detailing backgrounds of films, and talking about similar movies, this is great for expanding a genre you enjoy of titles you haven't heard of. THIS IS WHY I WATCH THE SHOW, NO I WON'T STOP WATCHING I JUST FAST FORWARD THROUGH ALOT OF IT.

5.To summarize:

First off I think alot of people feel the same way. The show needs more depth, I'd like to see games go in as much detail as movies does, tell me about the art style of the games not just to movies or the score of the game. The intro videos are kinda dry too and the Q&A, I'd say if the show related the intro to the rest of the show and keep the Q&A to deep and not cheesy, like HAK 5 does killer server is cool. A TRS IRC channel would be awesome too, I'd love to IRC debate with you guys.

Secondly, I'm a little astonished at your comments about absolute "traits" in film-making; clearly, either you're a pupil of Plato or Hitler, and I don't think either is especially rad when it comes to movies. Everything, everything is open to interpretation, and if you don't like it, you should probably move to China and read government-sanctioned movie reviews.

What's the point of coming onto the TRS forums and telling everyone you don't like how they do things? Obviously they're running their show how they want, and we love them for that.

I'm not one to normally summarily dismiss an entire poster because of something they've said that is stupid on an epic scale, but did you do any research before making the above statement? I know the search feature on the rev3 forums requires a masters degree in library science, but try searching for IRC in the TRS forums.

As for the rest of your two monumental posts in this thread (to begin the thread and to bump the thread), you've shown yourself to be far more sophisticated than the rest of us and I hope the boys read your post and implement all of your suggestions. You are a wise one. I repent my cheesy and geeky ways as you have shown me a better way.
