I finished watching BBS this morning and it's not bad. It doesn't take things to the next level in the way that The Simpsons movie did, but they certainly ramp things up a bit. Oh, and there's a couple of musical segments, too.

I won't say any more for fear of unintentional spoilers other than if you liked the show, then you'll most likely like the movie.

Especially for Nibbler!

But that's all I'm saying.

I'm going to watch it tonight...when I should be watching a new episode of the office.

Crap! I didn't think it was coming out until '08. I'll add it to my Christmas list... if I don't get it for myself first.

Edit: Just finished watching it thanks to razer2. While a lot of it felt like it tried to cram as much old references in there, the overall story was Futurama all the way! Though, it sort of takes away the sentimental feel from Jurassic Bark knowing what we know. I think the next one will be much better since they hopefully won't feel the need to throw reference back to older episodes since they did it heavily in this one.

I thought it was absolutely brilliant, amazing fan service in the form of references, characters and more. I was worried one character wasn't going to show up but when they did it made my day. There are tons of hilarious segments but there are also the touching scenes that the series is known for. The plot is pretty complex but handles it great and leads right into the next direct to video movie. In the end it's just a blessing to get new Futurama.

Hated it. Their stab at Family Guy was kind of funny, but I revoke their right to have done so since this "movie" sucked.

i downloaded it thru bittorrent when i found it was leaked and i thought it was okay, way better than the simpsons movie in my opinion. And *spoiler* the little dog finally gets a happy ending *spoiler* !

I won 50 bucks the day it was announced that they were coming back. You can't cancel something this good. Just like Family Guy.

My favorite line from the movie was in the preview:
"You know, it's strange"
"What?"
"Your weiner!"

Other than that, I thought it was a fun movie.

There definitely was a lot of fan service, a lot of "Oh! So THAT's how that happened" kinda things. But they weren't overdone which I was worried it would have been.

But, mostly I was just happy there was more Futurama. It was just as funny as ever, just as quotable as ever. I can't wait for more.

I enjoyed it, although it felt more like an long episode then a movie. Definitely worth watching.

Wow, I completely missed that this was even coming out. I knew it was hitting Comedy Central in '08, but didn't know it was being released on DVD before then.

I had really high expectations for this...and the fact that it met and exceeded them left my jaw on the floor. The movie is simply outstanding. The story is beautifully complex and has more fan in-jokes than you could ever imagine. They 'explain' just about everything you ever saw in the original series, and then some. I had a few minor issues (musical numbers, what happens in the last few moments)...but those are very easy for me to overlook.

I really couldn't be more pleased. I hope the next 3 stand up as well.

Yeah really, what was the deal with those musical numbers?

I could see if they were throughout and thats what they were going for, but there's just a couple thrown in towards the latter half.

And also...they weren't good.

I found it to be phenomenal, not only because it's more Futurama (which is excellent), but because it was brilliant and hilarious. The guy who said it had a simple plot must be crazy, unless he's just referring to the broadest description of the plot. References to previous episodes abounded, as did references to FUTURE events in the movie. The professor had great one-liners as usual. The beginning stab at Fox was pretty funny.

It was very reminiscent of the later episodes, so they had their moments but on the whole weren't good (there were a couple good episodes near the end of the show, but most weren't). I laughed at some parts, especially all the stuff with the paradoxes and whatnot.

To each his own. Though I feel compelled to point out that there were no paradoxes ("It's a paradox-correcting time code"). :)

I was hoping they would have the "last" Bender go see all the other Benders in the basement. I was so happy when they (pretty much) did.

I'll have to watch this again when it airs on TV cause I don't what you guys are talking about. I think they went overboard with the references to old episodes. I think there should have been only one and that would have been Fry's dog, but I'm glad that they added that.

I'd imagine all the crazy references to old episodes will be toned down on the next release now that they've gotten it out of their system.

That said, I loved it. There were a couple of less than stellar parts, but for the most part I'm just super glad Futurama's back.

I found out that someone bought it for me for Christmas, so I'm really struggling to resist buying it myself....
I know that reviews for Bender's Big Score are mixed, but DAMN, I wanna see it.

I found the reviews to be pretty much all positive. The DVD has 4/5 on Amazon, and 8/10 on IMDb, a 7/10 on IGN, and a 78% on RT user reviews.

You'll be well-rewarded for your patience.

I thought it was pretty standard Futurama, which is to say better than a lot of other stuff that IS on television right now. However, I find that Futurama kind of unsuccessfully sits in the middle of being outright funny and kind of sci-fi geekiness. I would love to see it go in more of a sci-fi direction and actually get into almost a Star-Trek parody. I want to see more adventure. The episodes where the crew really get to adventure are often the funniest.

The funniest episode is still Amazonia.

And then Jurassic Bark makes you all sad....
