I only have dialup at the moment, and couldnt download ep4, could someone write a transcript of the segment about hacking the xbox 360?

Matt, sorry to break it to ya but hacking that X360 is a ***** by itself. I doubt you'll get someone to write that transcrip for you - they do some higher level shit in that video. (I think it's higher level and I modded my PS2 for myself!)

Ask a friend who has high speed to get it for you...or turn to dust waiting for it in text form.

Head over to xbox-scene.org and you should be able to get all the information and tools you need. Their tutorial is a little out of date anyway, they must have shot that sometime around June, as the Xtreme Firmware has had several updates since.

It's really not too hard, just make sure you've got the right tools before attempting to open the Xbox 360 case.

Im not a newb at hacking xbox's, I did the softmod on my old xbox, and been a X-S user for over 2 years, Im just confused about doing the firmware thing on xbox 360, I heard you can do it without shoving out $50 for a connectivity kit which I cannot afford to buy, but all the tutorials are on vids that dialup users cant download.

man get dsl now...at&t does'nt have the year long contracts needed to get $15 a month or cheaper than than service, now you can get that for jsut 1 month at a time.. even for 1 month you won't regret it.

Yeah dude, if I can afford it anybody can. I pay $320 a month though... :(
But sorry to a useless joe, but I can't really help you on the XBox hacking thing and besides, there must be a text-based tutorial online somewhere, just google it.

Agreed... Quite a few difficult steps, that would be very hard to transcript. Let just say you would get "Lost in Translation". You could always grab the video and watch it at a later date.

Even as a text tutorial it's a large download for dial-up. Around 6.2mb, will probably take you almost an hour to download. Believe me though, it's worth every second.

I was the "Google Video Kid" who was on Digg for my 360 video. I didn't even know double_d and kevin had made one here on thebroken.

One mistake I noticed with thebroken episode is they show them inserting the 360 game into the PC drive. It has to go in the Xbox 360 drive, and that has to be done before typing the four CDB commands for dumping the ss. Actually, with the new programs out, it's easier to just follow my tutorial and use Xbox Backup Creator. One click to backup a game.

Textbook,

the links to your latest tutorial (what is its version BTW?) are dead in most of the forums I have seen it referenced in...all I can find is the old version 41.

also is this the latest release that reflects using the latest Xtreme v42a or v42B firmware for the Samsung..?

also I had a chance to see your video and you referenced using a third party downloader program from GROUND ZERO (is that what I heard in yoru video?)

supposedly, allowing us to log in and download firmware updates etc..via the MIRC channels or the FNET IRC channels(did I hear you say XBINS?) without having to use MIRC or whatever IRC utitity to do this...

I would rather use the other downloader utlity you referenced.

Did someone mention that the 360 is harder to mod than a PS2? Hah, ps2 is by far the most difficult console to modify.

360 has a simple add-on for certain drives, it requires little modification, actually. ( www.team-xecuter.com )

I own a 360, and have modded about 10 original xbox's, and used to work for the now shut down System-Mods.com, so hopefully you realize i'm not pulling crap out of my behind.

How is the online play after modifying the firmware and playing with your "backups"?
