This is in regards to alex mentioning Aliens as a must see movie...which I completely agree...

but anyways....let me go into a quick story for you..which is 100% true..

ok...and I seriously dare someone to think I'm kidding.
so when I was a kid..my parents took me to aliens (why...I have no idea..I was a child), well during the first chest bursting scene...I freaked out..screamed and ran out of the theatre crying..(I'm 28..so..however old I was when it came out)

well anyway..

like 2 years later..I was @ the San Diego zoo (woot alex!)..and well..some guy walked up to me..and was like...(mind you this was in front of my entire YMCA group)

"excuse me...were you the kid who ran out of the movie aliens while ago??"

yeah...let me just say..I was REALLY embarassed..

true story..

but anyways

keep up the good work..back to work for me

The crazy thing is, after you left, I went over to the guy and was like "Was that the guy that ran out of Aliens when I was 5 years old?"

Lets see, Alien was 1979, and Aliens was 1986. You were born in 1979, so I must assume that you were non mobile when Alien came out (I could be wrong, I have seen infants in R rated films, or you could be like baby Stewie ala Family Guy) and certainly not talking to strangers at the tender age of 1. Therefore, your folks took a 7 year old to see Aliens.

Your parents were either really awesome (Aliens is an Rad movie, and everyone should have seen it by now), completely misinformed ("I thought this was the movie about the cute alien and the reeses pieces candys and dirt bikes and drew barrymore", whoops!), or something else entirely.

What creeps me out though is that some strange dude recognized a 7 year old kid a year later. This means one of two things to me...

a) You have an extremely memorable physical characteristic, i.e. Strange eye color, funny smells, distinctive facial features ala Elephant Man type stuff, or something else entirely :)
b) You live(d) in a town with a VERY high incidence of pervy old men.

Or perhaps you don't remember the story accurately? :) You were only 8 after all. :)

my brother used to have a life size poster of an Alien on his door. his room was at the end of the hallway where there wasn't much light. he used to scare my friends by leading them down the hallway with the lights out. than he would turn them on to reveal a 7 foot Alien leaping towards them while he would grab them and yell AHHHHHH. :D

Great movie! Just like Jeff said, there are certain movies you need to have seen to get my conversation references, and this is one of them.

Its a pity that "Alien War (http://www.iht.com/articles/1993/12/17/alien.php)" at the Trocadero in Picadilly Circus has been long gone - it would have been rad for the guys to visit during their London sojourn.

there is nothing i wouldn't give to do that lol:DI went back in 1995 on my first trip to London - and it was like a well done haunted house on steroids. From the space marines, the setup of the "research lab", the gun fire (not just "flash bang" from the props, but synchronised pyro technics down hallways), and of course the Alien(s) themselves - this was the raddest immersive experiences I have ever had.
