Chain yourself to the door of the bar, naked and PISSSSSSED drunk.
Disclaimer: I advocate underage alcohol and illegal drug consumption.
Are they seriously checking IDs at the door? Just go anyway but get pissed beforehand.
21 is such a ridiculous drinking age, what a country.

I mean, comon people. Why? WHY?!
Where will I get my weekly dose of Martin, Gator, and the bottom cesspool of internet?
Nevermind that it's the 3rd best show on the Revision3 Network - what will Gator do?
Listen man, If you're tired of sleeping in the truck in the dogpatch outside Martin's industrial wharehouse-cum-lofts, come on down to the South Bay. The WiFi's free, the weather is less foggy, and the door is open for you.

Actually, in our ass-backwards Christian assinine country, you can't enter most bars unless you're 21. I think it's a damn shame that Martin couldn't pull more strings or host this at a restaurant/bar type place, but whatever.
I wholly endorse underage drinking.

TechTV was taken away from me after about only 2 years of enjoyment, 3 tops. i just very recently discovered that Martin and friends have been keeping the TechTV spirit alive with Rev3. Unscrewed was the best gorram show on tv, yet it got canned like an aborted fetus. now the same thing is happening to the best ****in show on Internet, after having discoved it only 2 WEEKS ago! In that short time i've caught up on all the FMV eps (bout to start on the slideshow eps) and fallen in love with the show. it took me back to the glorious days of Unscrewed and TechTV. Gator is the best damn character/sidekick on any of Internet and tv, and Martin is the best ****in host of any show on any format, period. If this whole cancellation thing is serious, then god help the assholes behind it cause they apparently have no soul and couldn't give a lesser shit about the shows fanbase. I mean for christ sake! It's a ****in podcast! And a cheaply produced one at that! As someone else has pointed out (i forget who or where) but it's not like you have a limited number of timeslots to fill and you have to pull a show to open up space. It's the interenet, it's got more space than the universe, heaven, and you'r mom's ass crack COMBINED!! And if it's bandwith they're worried about, COME ON, it cant possibly be putting that big a dent into these money grubbin assholes pocket books to keep this show running! Especially, like i said, since the show's produced on such a low budget. If there is any form of higher life form watching over this disease filled hellhole we call earth, then it'll smite the high n' mighty Jim Louderback with a plague of std's of thai prostitute proportions and brain devouring ear wigs so this pants exploding show stays on the air! And the Reptoid Overlord help us all if we have the dawning of another G4 on our hands!!
that's my piece... for now...

Kk. Infected is the only reason I still come to revision3.com anymore. Wtf is this Louderback thinking. Does he really think I want to log in to listen to Alex Albrecht's whining nasal intonations? Or Kevin Rose drone on and on and on about the next big media hypefest from Apple in his Keanu Reeves drop out, hey dude drawl? Like I need two backpatting asshats telling me what I missed over the week because I didn't f5 their site fast enough.
I'm telling you Martin, Gator, even that little shitbird Joey. Internet is going to suck a little bit more without your shining faces there to brighten up my week. How the hell am I supposed to get to sleep without one of your stories to put me down for the night? Where will I get pointers on writing my lady love poetry to melt her heart and possibly, after some drinks, get her in the back of my truck?
Now, don't get me wrong, Web Drifter is a good show. For me it's just missing the Gator. Don't tell me Gator didn't have anything to say about that
freakshow old man in the rubber undies.
Anyway... I'm tired of staring at the diggnation banner at the top of this page so I'ma wrap this up. I know this post isn't going to change anyones mind. I'm just angry that people like Kevin Rose can have eighteen programs on this network that are basically the same show (systm, the broken, I'm looking at you) but when you guys produce something interesting and genuinely fun to watch it gets shitcanned before you can say unscrewed.
**** a Louderback. Bah.

Most shows on Revision 3 are the equivalent of looking through a sears catalog. What's interesting about being persuaded to buy expensive pieces of tech equipment? What's the fun in watching people build a Mame cabinet?
Is everyone too lazy to go look up instructions for such a project? Do they lack so much creativity they have to see exactly how someone makes all the cuts? I don't see Bob Ross on the program, I thought it was supposed to be a tech show.
I'm not saying there isn't some good programming on Revision 3. The Broken is enough proof that Revision 3 has the capability of entertaining people with technological know how. How many episodes of that were made again? Oh yeah.
Don't get me started on Diggnation. Who wants to see a couple ambiguously gay computer nerds ramble on about tech nonsense? There's probably just as much substance in Infected, except it's FUNNY! Not to mention they don't have the users of digg.com do all their work for them.
If Inefcted gets canceled it will just take the spirit of Tech TV further into the abyss. I no longer have faith in Jim Louderback. I should have taken a hint back in 2003 when I saw him at the mall explaining to the elderly how all the furniture up on stage was connected to the internet.
If I could say one think to Mr. Louderback, it would be this;
Don't cancel Infected. If you do, make sure to replace it with a better show. Preferably staring Kevin Mitnick, and Steve Wozniak. Except don't really bring those guys in. Instead give Martin and Gator a show. Then call it Infected.

Leave it up to Jim Louderback to make the "Third Revision" of media -- JUST LIKE the other two...
We'll look back at this and say, "This was the time Rev3 started to swirl down the bowl."
Prove me wrong Jim.
I'd have to agree. Infected brings something special to Revision 3, it's not all about business. Personally I think Diggnation is a good show but I watch nothing else on Revision 3 except that and Infected. If Infected does get canceled it would be a sad sad day.

I've been watching Infected since the very first audio podcast and have truly enjoyed every episode. Mostly due to Martin and Gator's chemistry, they're just witty and funny. I love how Gator seems to clumsily improv those crazy ass stories (ie Starving crow, Ricky Kang etc.). These guys truly have talent and are enjoyable to watch, regardless of the scripted content of the show.
I really believe it's the existence of shows like this on rev3 that keep it real and interesting. You can't just have all tech... Louderback!!! It's that way of thinking that destroys entire networks, i.e. G4, all gaming, boooorring. I think Louderback would really be making a monumental mistake in canceling this show and sending a really bad message to viewers. He'd basically be eliminating any variety that rev3 has left. Also, it never looks good when some new CEO comes in and just starts canceling shows because he has some personal problem with it. It's quite apparent that Louderback can't stand Martin. Just watch that older dl.tv episode where Martin did an on location segment at CES - Louderback looked sickened by it. Please Jim, get over yourself. Don't cancel Infected! There are plenty of people out that that are truly enjoying this format.

Well, in all seriousness, this should have been expected.
Jim Louderback wants to move all of the show's production to San Francisco, so that they can all be produced in house. Infected just wasn't willing to move its production, so they couldn't continue the show.

Why exactly should this show be canceled because a certain CEO thinks so? He's there for ratings and as long as we're all watching Infected he should be more than happy. So as far as I am concerned he needs to listen to what the fans think, which of course is DON'T cancel Infected! -

been watching since episode 1, the show seems to have some sick humor, but other parts of the show are extremely funny, i believe it is a break from all the other tech shows.
if you think that Infected is a waste of time, what about watching a show that shows you how to make a mime box, WHEN THE **** AM I GOING TO NEED OR WANT A MIME BOX? OR HAVE THE TIME TO MAKE 1 :|, Infected is a quick watch and enjoy, while that other show is a lets waste time and Revision money to make a pointless CASE for a linux computer. I can make a giant wood case too.
cut wood, drill holes, connect wires, install linux, OMG ROCKET SCIENCE
plus, how much money can Infected really be using????????
How much does production on this show actually cost? I can't see it being some kind of cash sinkhole, considering there's no graphic work, it's a 3 man setup crew, and only some quick editing involved.
The only reason I can see Infected being canceled is if there aren't advertiser dollars interested in the content of Infected. If that's the case, it's a fault of revision3 marketing department, not the quality of the show itself. There are advertiser dollars for mook programming: Alcohol, pornography, and music tend to have no problems paying for advertising on mook/offensive programming.
But something tells me it's deeper than that. Someone can't come to an agreement here. The worst case is that the powers at be have a problem associating with a fringe internet culture. If the offensive nature of Infected is what's causing the problem, then there would be complaints raised about the prized Diggnation that is the flagstaff for this network. Diggnation is oftentimes misogynistic, crude, and socially ignorant. Infected is at least in some kind of satirical tone.
Whatever the problem is, I think the cancellation of a low-budget podcast for corporate reasons goes directly against the model and idea of internet television. This move strikingly resembles the cancellations that went down just before the G4/TechTV merger. Is this where you're taking our new on-demand programming? Do you want to fashion the image of your network in order to fit trend lines and investor dollars? Do you want to fight for the lowest common denominator and taint this haven with the very plights you escaped on cable television?
The cancellation of Infected could be the beginning of a very ugly change.

BSG, I completely agree with you. That was what I was trying to say in my post earlier but you said it way better :)
Wake up Louderback, this isn't Fox.
Dan
On that note however, unless there was a friendly understanding between Martin and Jim, I think there's no possible way we'll see Infected airing on Revision3.
Martin has handled the situation very irresponsibly, and has most certainly burned a bridge or two in the taping of this recent episode. If the live taping goes anywhere near the same direction, Martin will be leaving a sour taste in not just Revision3's network, but in any network programming he may try to fill in the future.
If the comments made towards Jim were in jovial fun, and the problem with Infected is simply clerical, then we very well may be able to sway Revision3 to invest in the infected programming again some day. I don't have very high hopes, though.

I just found out that Rev3 is planning on canceling Infected. So here I am, just registered, voicing my opinion.
In the end cancelling Infected will be a big mistake for Rev3. This is one of those foundational issues that while management may think it's okay to ignore you will end up loosing a large number of fans over. Much larger than the viewership numbers you have for Infected, trust me.
Martin and Gator give color to a Rev3 sea of Albrecht. I have been a Rev3 fan since before Rev3! I was there watching Kevin, Dan, and Ramzi do what they did best--have fun and to hell with what suits like Lauderback thought. Now, to be honest, it feels like there's little fun left in the shows. It feels like it's turned corporate and to be honest I don't know if the world is ready for that. I'm willing to bet the VAST majority of your fans are like myself, techcentric. The numbers have to be 1000:1 at least. So why in the world would you push for network like shows? Know your audience! And the irony is, even though it appears Rev3 is trying to achieve network status, their shows are filled with nothing but geeks. The ONLY show that isn't is the one you're threatening to cancel.
The only reason I still download the other vidcasts is simply because I, like many, have been rooting for this company to succeed. If poor decision making, dare I say G4'esk decision making, is what I should expect from this company then I'm not wasting any more of my time with Rev3.
Infected fills a void that no other Rev3 show fills. It speaks to an audience that no other Rev3 show speaks to. You got rid of The Broken, the only other truly unique show on here, all we have left is Martin and Gator. The humor they give is refreshing and though I do enjoy the humor of TRS it's still riddled with the 'geekery' vibe every Rev3 show on here (other than Infected) has.
If Infected isn't performing to your expected bar, here's a tip...every other damn show on here has gotten a makeover whether it's the intro, the music, graphics, set. whatever. Why not do the same for Infected? It seems to me Rev3 hasn't even given the show a fair shot.
I truly hope this cancellation gets reconsidered.
Teetering on the edge of turning the dial,
Mike Farley

You guys have got be to be kidding me. Why would Martin be insulting the CEO of Revision3, the company he works for, and on his show, if he wasn't kidding about it? Whether there is going to be a new show or this is going to stay, they are joking around. It's not like Martin and the gang are being fired or laid-off here.

In case there's still a chance that Revision3 will consider saving Infected, they should consider trying any/all of the following:
1. replace cancellation threats with polls. if all the talk of being canceled is/was a joke, a poll is a much easier way of seeing how many people are watching the show. diggnation has them. the scifi channel uses them..
2. more guests would be great. if every techtv person came on the show just once-they could fill a ton of shows. they don't have to teach tech. they could just hang out and have fun. and yes it might get their shows more viewers as well as marty and gator's.
3.guest contributions would help. instead of trying to get blackhawk to tell us why he needs a pc---why not give him a camera and send him to every convention and medieval festival in the country. he could send back pics and video once a month at least.
4. Blogging by the Bay-every day! If Marty and Gator do a regular blog that gets up in the search results, more people will know to look out for their show.
5. Pic submissions, contests, etc. There are lots of ways to reward loyalty. People like to send in stuff. Marty and Gator shouldn't have to surf for all the content in the show. Some should be viewer emails, pics of folks wearing Infected shirts, etc.
It's one thing to cancel a show that's not working. It's another thing to not even see if it can last.

It's not a majority of the hosts, it's ALL of the hosts. I understand the need for Tech, I used to watch Chris Parillo, I used to watch Kevin and Leo, I know the need. But the need is being fed at Rev3. The problem isn't the lack of tech shows here that's for certain. So why then get rid of the only truly non-tech show. What sense does that make?

Very very disappointing. This show was a nice escape and very much needed on Revision3. Half the reason both my girl friend and I go to this site is for Infected, our escape from reality. Looks like that indeed they have been ripped, by the rip tide. This brings as much sorrow, if not more, than the cancellation of Unscrewed.
I really hope this signifies the birth of a new show (no, Webdrifter doesn't count). Webdrifter is nice in its own right, however it is a different style of show than Infected was. Martin has a great following, and this is the second time that the following has been upset and disappointed in what management has done to what was a great show. Even though it looks like a bunch of crying fans from the forums can't change a damn thing about what happens to a show that they love to see, some feedback would be appreciated.
Isn't the new media supposed to EMBRACE niche shows?

Martin, I really hope this is a joke like Gator dying!!!
If this is true, than the Revision3 ceo is as clueless and ball-less as comcast for gutting TechTV.
I don't think I can take another one of my favs being taken away. And for what The totally rad show? It's a totally bad show! 3 guys one really annoying in front of a greenscreen talking about what they think is cool. **** that!

If you don't like TRS, I have no beef with you. However, that pun was not ok. Really, its was horrible.
Hey mods, is there anyway that you can give him some sort of demaret or something? No pun should go unpunished.
EDIT:: oh god damnit

This is crap.
I hate to say it but if they keep threatening Martin he should just start up his own or join some other Internet network. I am beginning to dislike revision 3 and all of their "Big-Business" decisions like cutting off their independent shows.
Real smart to get rid of your only funny show.
I challenge any of you to let a stranger listen to Diggnation or TRS then let them listen to Infected and see which one they thought was funny. Two guys drinking beer talking about computer pr0n or three dudes talking about comics..........

Well, Revision3 just posted its new schedule (http://revision3.com/blog/2007/12/04/new-revision3-schedule-now-posted/) and surprise, surprise, Infected is nowhere to be found on it. So I guess there's our answer.
Thanks Louderback.

the only reason I come to R3 at all is because of martin sargent. Hell, I usually never come since I get Webdrifter and Infected on iTunes. The only reason I'm here is that I just finished his last released episode and saw that he asked us to come here to request infected not to be canceled. Martin Sargent is hilarious, but Webdrifter can't do it all, since Infected has the Gator, and Joey the intern who I can remember from Unscrewed on Tech TV. If infected is canceled, I'm going to cry myself to sleep every night for the rest of my life :(

I really wished I was on the West Coast this past weekend so I could be at the podcast taping. If I was, I could get in no problem due to me being 22. I have been a fan of Infected since like episode 2 thanks to a friend of mine who basically introduces me to stuff like this. Martin Sargent is a pioneer by showing us the craziest shit on the internet and helps guide us lost web drifters. Have you ever felt that the internet was your only source of entertainment for a time being and you were bored out of your goddamn skull? I have, but Sarge, The Gator and Joey have fixed that in a remarkable way. I constantly listen to the old episodes and its the only reason I visit Revision3. To those in charge of Revision3, I cast shame upon you for your desire to cancel the greatest podcast in the world. Yes, I said it, the GREATEST. There are many great podcasts out there, but nothing comes close to this. Sarge provides me with my freaky ass news so I don't have to search myself. Call me lazy if you want, but I prefer hearing news and info from someone I can relate to instead of some political douche bag. You kill Infected, you kill Revision3. Make your choice gentlemen. Either way, we will keep pestering you with demands to bring it back and we won't stop until it is done.

not that I've actually watched an entire episode of infected nor do *I* particularly enjoy it but it's evident that many people do.
More to the point
Why does a show that actually has a fanbase get canceled whereas a show such as x8lr8ator or however you say it with a forum that consists of entirely "new episode" posts and little to no replies stay on the schedule?

there is always web drifter.....I also think that there will be a new show with Martin, he has to much of a strong following... Once they get the sets in Rev 3 they have to bring the show back or at least start a new one with him at the captain's post. BTW why would he move to San Fran if he would only do what 20+ episodes?

This is depressing...
I watch Infected exclusively. Haven't had the urge to watch anything else on Revision. Infected is the cornerstone of excellent podcasting. Yes, that's regurgitating what every other person's saying on this board, but you can never stress enough how stale this is.
To cancel the best show Rev3 has to offer and one of the best shows still riding the waves of the interweb with reckless abandon, is an abomination.
What's it gonna take to keep this ship afloat?! If anyone's got a plan, I'm down to help in anyway I can.

I think that "Infected" was occassionally borderline, but usually borderline genius.
However, I don't agree that it was the "only" original show on Revision3.

I'm sad to see Infected Go, But on the Bright Side the only reason the show is probabley gone, is so Internets Martin Sargent can release a new show. So i think we should stop missing Infected and try to look forward to what the Genius Martin has in store for us soon..... I want to know, what he's got up his sleeve.
Yeah its going to be a long wait until tomorrow when the final infected is released.

The canceling of this poor podcast, after it turned itself, into the best on Internet, is simply barbaric... Barbaric!... Barbaric!... let that word resound! From hill to hill!... and from mountain to mountain!... from valley to valley!... across this broad land! Barbaric!...Barbaric! May God, help, Louderback’s poor soul, who would be so cruel ...Barbaric! Hear me! Barbaric!

I refuse to believe that Infected is canceled just yet. It just seems like one elaborate joke, and the show was doing so well.
Or maybe I'm just in denial.

This is too funny. I realize that I am a newbie to these forums but I find it kinda of strange how ALOT of newbies with 1 or 2 posts have made it here to voice their support of the show. Makes me wonder if they might be DUPES of the few ppl that bore themselves with this show weekly or hosts themselves? Have to wonder..
The following post is extremely after the fact but i felt that the targeted group must be defended because the allegations above by mr. Nutjob are completely ridiculous and are tad amount to a pathetic conspiracy contrived in the mind of a delusional person:
I have watched every episode since the day infected launched. i have a life and don't care about forums. i think it says a lot about martins audience that even if they don't frequent the boards, they will come out of the woodwork to support him. i really cared about the show and didn't want to see it canceled so when martin asked for fans to voice support, thats what i did and im sure many others did as well. thats the thing about the infected army, we may be drunk and disorganized but when the general calls the troops for deployment we come a runnin'. thats the difference between all the fans on these boards and you. we love this show genuinely but you cant seem to understand that. Maybe we don't give a crap about posting on every little thing we like or don't like, so quit trying to nit pick on all the newbs like me that are only trying to support a show we REALLY like. how many times in high school did they run you up the flag pole w a pickle in your ass? Since your a newbie as well, couldn't the same allegations be applied in reverse to you? Who knows, you could be alex albrecht
