After a million rumors/cancellations etc, the Green Lantern movie looks to finally be picking up steam.
According to Variety (via SuperHeroHype), Greg Berlantini (TV, directed 'The Broken Hearts Club', a fantastic drama about a group of gay guys in their daily lives) is set to direct, while Marc Guggenheim will co-write and Heroes' Michael Green will produce.
I hope so badly this gets made, but (not being racist here) I don't want a black Green Lantern, I hope they start out with Hal Jordan, though I'd love Kyle Rayner.
Anyhow, I'm excited.

Really ... I'd be nice if it dealt with the entire corps not just John, Kyle and Hal who doesn't like a little variety in their ring bearing galaxy protection superheroes and heroines :D

I agree that I'd prefer it to not just focus on one or two lanterns, but the whole corps. There's so much more variety and potential there than if it just ends up a single hero guy saves the earth kind of story.

The only problem with that is how do you focus on four or five interesting characters (Earth lanterns) and incorporate the backstory of each, while explaining what the Corps do....it would be very hard to do.

I personally rather see multipul lanters using the council of lanters or whatever it is (I've never read the comics. Just seen the cartoon adaptation.), rather than multipul human lanterns.
ngower. Would there be some Green Lantern trades you would suggest for someone who has never read any Green Lantern comics..?

Uhhh....that's a tough one. Unlike most superheroes, the Green Lantern always changes. I'd say your best option is to get one of those "The Essential: Green Lantern" books at Borders or Barnes and Noble or something, but I've never read them.

Hoe would you explain what one, or five, Green Lanterns do, without explaining what the corps is?

Why would they have to be earth lanterns? I mean one sure, but...
And yeah, it'd be hard, but it's going to be a hard movie to do well no matter what direction they take it, really.
