View Full Version : Jeff Gerstmann should be hired for Rev3

For those that don't know Jeff Gerstmann was the Editorial Director at GameSpot. He was the host of show On the Spot and was on their podcast The HotSpot. He was very entertain on both shows.

Notice how I used the word WAS, this is because he has been fired for his review on Kayne and Lynch. Here is the link to the video review that has been pulled from the reviews web page;

As you can see Jeff was very well liked and respected (expect the Nintendo Fanboys that didn't like his review of the last Zelda game)

I figure Jeff would be a good fit for Revision3 because of his easy going, good fun and his honesty (so much so it got him fired). Rev3 doesn't have a pure gaming show and having Jeff would fill that void. Could also have him on Tekzilla for another view on gaming. Gamespot's stupidity could be Rev3 benefit.

At least I hope Diggnation, TRS and Tekzilla all talk about this outrage.

FYI I don't personally know Jeff in anyway and I don't know what his plans are.

lol, i wouldn't mind a job in rev3 the problem is I am in Winnipeg Canada (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&saddr=winnipeg,+mb&daddr=San+Francisco,+CA&sll=49.89942,-97.14074&sspn=0.321102,0.626907&ie=UTF8&z=5&om=1) and that is a bit of commute for me :D

I am not sure that Jeff would fit well with Revision 3. But it could be like how alex was with Screen Savers. I know I was like who is this guy? I didn't like him at first, but hes way cool now.

But we have seen Jeff for many years, so Idk if Revision 3 would want a only gaming show, but I doubt he would be coming here, he will probably go to a another gaming website, or start his own thing.

I don't see how he would not fit. Revision3 is not all about tech shows. The way in which he was let go was a bunch of crap. He handled himself pretty dan good in On the Spot and The Hot Spot.

It would be cool to see him on rev3. I highly doubt that it will ever happen though. I think he would rather join another website such as IGN or 1up.

This guy is funny, irreverent, popular (check out digg.com this weekend) and available.

Anyone else agree?

Doesen't mean he is not trying out for a permanent home on Rev3. You have to admit that he is trying out for something if he is on Rev3 WITHIN 1 WEEK.

I wish he does do something cool like join the rev3 team but anything else would also be great too. On his myspace, he said that he needs to relax for a bit and figure out what he should do. In the meantime he is just playing video games to pass time by. So lets hope that he does figure something out.
