Let's get the biggest news out of the way for the videophiles: Xbox 360 now supports MPEG-4, which means the box plays both DivX and XviD files without a hitch. 1UP tested almost every variation of the format possible, including high-definition content as high as 1080P. All the files ran flawlessly, though Microsoft told us there's no guarantee all formats will be compatible -- but we imagine most will.

Ok, I'm sold...now if I can guarantee a 65nm chipset, I'm buying.

Exactly what I'm waiting for. Hopefully, the holiday shoppers will clear the shelves of 90nm stock...
Oh, and an HD DivX/Xvid TRS wouldn't hurt :)

This is all such a hand-job.
Having the XBOX 360 support divx is quite useless if they don't update and fix their media sharing software. They stopped supporting Windows Media Connect almost a year ago and the Zune and WMP11 sharing is broken. Third party developers have also been slow to provide sharing support for these formats as well.
Right now, I'm stuck transferring files to the XBOX 360 via a thumb drive. How soon before they break that?

TVersity has been working flawlessly for me for ages now. It also works with my PS3. I've been enjoying streaming HD h264 MP4 and can't wait for MPEG4 support.
