I had the TV running in the background on G4TechTV after The Lab, and I overheard Attack of the Show saying Alex Albrecht's name. Apparently he will be on AOTS this coming up Tuesday as said here: http://forums.g4tv.com/thread.jspa?threadID=14100&tstart=0

After how they treated them ? I mean i get it, the money is probably good, but man. I havent watched that channel since kevin left and i cant imagine anyone that was there when it went down wanting to go on any of their shows. I would hope that channel shriveled up slowly and died, not boost its ratings.

Both him and Kevin have said a few times that they were still good friends with people like Morgan Webb and Adam Sessler and the network most likely wanted someone who know what they were doing unlike half the host over there now.

G4 has always got the chick-factor. When it was first on the air, it was Diane Mizota that made me stop from surfing by. But hot-chicks only get you so far. Ten minutes later you've cleaned-up and you're interested in a little more than just hotness.

Now that's a cool cable company. To understand that what they bought when it was a tech channel, is not what they were paying for. I have Time Warner, they cover so much area, bad ratings don't look so bad. My only other option used to be the cable that the phone company offered. They were terrible. Even as a phone company. Luckily a British communications company bought them out. First thing was cutting my monthly bill in half. I like that company.

A British energy company also bought my electric company. Prices also went down. I think the King is buying back our loyalty to the Royalty.

Anyways, I've been watching AOTS for a while(yes I'm sorry) recently they've been really geeking out and it's been good. But starting about a few weeks ago it seems like they're going back to the old Spike tv 2 thing they where doing before, hopefully it's me just being paranoid. But kevin pereira is pretty cool so I'll keep watching, I'm just thinking it's only because there's not much geek news going on lately.

I just got FIOS TV so this was the first time I ever watched G4.

Overall, AOTS looks like an OK program. There wasn't anything that made it stick out from any other tech show. One problem I had was the dialogue seemed too "phony". It sounded like I was hearing what the writer thought "sounded cool/geeky". Now I might feel this way because I have been watching almost exclusively internet podcasts (for tech news) for over 2 years where there is free reign over what anyone says or how anyone acts.
Overall he did a good job filling in and I would actually be sad if he found a place on network TV. Me and a few thousand other people would probably agree internet content beats 95% of "news" or review TV shows out there.

It's not saying much, but AOTS is probably one of the best things on TV for me...below The Daily Show, The Office, and Dirty Jobs:)

DEFINATELY not as phony as most of the other stuff on tv, but yeah Alex did look uncomfortable.

Man you guys have some kind of issues with G4...yeah they killed Tech TV and yeah it kinda sucks now....but good lord, get over it :)

I just came in to say that Alex did an awesome job on AOTS tonight. This was one of the few times I actually watched the show all through, just because Alex was on it. Good job Alex! :)

BTW, I think it's totally cool that he was on there, TRS got mentioned several times so hopefully it will bring more viewers for them. Which I'm sure was a big reason for Alex doing the show in the first place.

I agree with you guys. The channel has gone in the toilet, but don't any of you lie and say when you pass the channel and Olivia Munn, Layla Kailey or Morgen Webb are there, you don't just stop...only for a minute, then change the channel.

As for tonights AOTS. Alex you rocked other than that the show was still the same old crap. Its too bad. I guess i might still have some hostility over them raping my favorite network on television. But the big stories of the night were searching for Porn on some dudes computer and a dog humping a kid playing a nintendo. Whats with that crap?

I actually like AOTS. Yeah, there was a time when it was pretty bad but then it started to pick up some steam. Obviously I think it's stupid that the network started showing COPS, Star Trek and Cheaters but I still enjoy most of their shows, Ninja Warrior, AOTS, X-Play. I just wish they would bring back the original "Icons" show that documented the history of gaming. That was one of the few times that me and my Dad could actually watch G4 together. Although obviously I would like to see TechTv back. That's a given.

Well his friend's a producer on the show or something right? Probably got him the gig to begin with and Alex was worried he was going to as something like he did also EVERY episode back in the day that would get him in trouble with the suits. If this episode is popular enough, this could very easily become a regular thing for him as a fill in. Lot of the other temporary hosts that aren't members of the G4 programming haven't been well... good.

I would definitely agree that Olivia Munn seemed really into Alex, but then again, I also think that strippers love me for my personality and not the money I give them.

Alex did a good job with what he had to work with. The Pereira segments were unbearable and even Alex and Olivia had a difficult time feigning interest.

All in all, after watching this episode (I've watched maybe 2 or 3 prior to this), I was reminded why I love Rev3 and internet programs in general. AOTS, and most TV, is just like your local 11 o'clock news. Hyping the upcoming segments so much that it feels like they're rushing through the current ones. Time schedules be damned, there's no need to preview The Feed, have another segment, take a commercial, then come back to the actual Feed. Just give us the content, skip the intro and outro motion graphics, and make it seem like you care about the end product.

Ah, well. With that over, I can now go back to ignoring G4 on my channel guide. To think, I used to willingly buy an additional TV package just to watch TechTV.

I thought Alex did a great job with what they gave him, but I felt too much focus was on Kevin in Michigan so there wasn't THAT much for him to do. I mean, come on, no DVDuesday? Alex and Chris could've gone on for HOURS.

He did work surprisingly well with Olivia. If they weren't both already taken, I bet she'd be all over him.

Well, maybe not, but she did seem more into him than she did with any of the other guest hosts they've had.

First of all, Olivia is HOT. And the show only floats because of her.

But Alex did a really, really good job. I'm NOT used to him reading a teleprompter. Plus all the BS advertising, really felt like a backhand slap against R3.

However, Alex held up the Super Bad movie and he goes "love it". What!?!?! Didn't he say he didnt on TRS?

And, I could see Alex and Olivia hooking up if they both weren't taken.

Dude, Leo is on Techtv every day, the show is called lab with leo, it simply doesn't show up on the American version, only the Canandian version. I believe it has something to do with trying to keep the American G4 fully arsed.

I couldn't, Alex seemed mildly uncomfortable with some of the stuff she was coming out with. Alex's current partner (who's name escapes me) seems a much better fit.

That show was so bad I almost turned it off before Alex even appeared (which was the 90 second mark). Only left it on as background while at work.

Well, just watched it.

first off, Olivia is smoking. But the rest of the show is utter crap. Its so cheesy and fake, not in the good way, i cant believe thats what TSS de-evolved into. I just fast forward to all the olivia and alex segements, which were good on both sides.

But hey, alex needs cash, i can get with that. Even if he is just trying to help save it, sure thats good. I can also except its not just my demographic. I just cant see myself ever stomaching that show. I would have to tivo it and fast forward all the part oliva wasnt in and i got better things to do then pine ove a girl i cant have for 15 min a show. Assuming alex isnt on there.

Ok, taking my hater pants off now.

As far as her being into him, im sure she has a lot of admiration for what he has done and is throwing out flirting cause thats what girls do. But i doubt its as big a deal as everyone seems to think it is, it felt played up and exaggerated for the show. Not all of it mind you, but some of it im sure was just for the show.

The thing that impressed me the most? All those old cellphones lit up an dangling from the ceiling. Whoever thought of that idea is a genius. Very cool effect.

i agree with everybody on here that the show is usually horrible and i cant really watch it. if i ever have it on its on in the background muted and i only watch it for that bottom scroll cause sometimes it has interesting movie and television news, which im to lazy to go to websites to find on my own. but the ep with alex almost brought me back to TSS. not quite though still much better then it usually is i didnt have to mute it once, although i did skep all the kevin segments.

Meh, it just didn't feel "right" at all. The banter between Alex and Olivia was awkward at best, and I think that if K-Per was back in the studio, it would have been fairly funny and maybe even partially interesting.

The thing is, you could see the wheels turning in Alex's head that stuff just didn't feel right. Its not the good ol' days of The Screen Savers, but at the very least, its not the worst show on TV.

Alex almost seemed...bored, sometimes. He had this sorta stony face that just pretty much said "this is lame." He had none of the enthusiasm that he has on TRS and Diggnation.

And yeah, I don't really watch much TV, and I'll be damned if it's ever G4. The two shows I like are Ninja Warrior (which gets old) and Code Monkeys (which is hit and miss.)

its weird because the show is soo much more relax with alex but still entertaining.. Im so used to kevin's constant energetic rambling about "me me me" jokes it gets old after a while, and i do understand thats his "gimmick".

I think alex did good and would like to see more of him in the future..

AOTS is nothing more than the MTV of internet shows... I like what the show does to reiterate whats going on on the internet, but at the same time theyre making internet jokes and happenings waay too mainstream. They mind as well call the show DIGGTV because everything they show is straight off of digg.

EDIT: through the whole show he seemed real 'lax but at the very end he really sparked up with his energetics.. oh how i miss the kevin r and alex screensaver days.
