I must admit, i havent read a comic book since i was like 10, ive always hated reading them, and couldnt keep up with them due to there being so many different iterations of iterations..

but thanks to jeffs recommendation about "Black Hole", im on the 4th part and i love this! Its easy to read and follow, very real and creepy.

So im wondering what other books or novels are very similar to this?
Ones that display real life issues on the creepy level while still throwing in a bit of fantasy?? I just dont like caper comics or action hero stuff or whatever you wanna call them..
I think Dan recommended some like this, but ive already forgot them..

the ones I mentioned on the show-- more personal stuff--

Blankets by Craig Thompson
Box Office Poison by Alex Robinson (i think)
Sleepwalk by Adriane Tomine
Summer Blonde by Adriane Tomine

but I think you should definately pick up The Walking Dead, I'm not into it, but it's personal and creepy and VERY popular.

Everything Danny T said... especially Blankets. Also Daniel Clowes stuff is really great: Ghost World, Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron, Pussey and David Boring. The Love and Rockets books (the ones by Gilbert Hernandez are more real than those by Jaime). Also Stray Bullets by David Lapham.

Yes, Box Office Poison is by Robinson.

Just finished "Blankets" and going thru "Maggie the Mechanic" (Love & Rocket) which I managed to find in the UK. Really good stuff ! Thanks for the recommendations.
Dan, have you managed to view that region 3 DVD of "A Bittersweet Life" that you have - am interested in getting your views.
