Well the general consensus on the internet seems to be that it will start on April 3rd, but on Saturday night FX started doing their season 6 rewind. Generally they only start that 3-5 weeks before the new season of that show is about to premiere. After the final night of the rewind the new season premieres that week. Is the new season getting pushed out the door early?
Just yesterday a new bit was added to Wikipedia about season 7.
"The Shield creator, Shawn Ryan, has stated that due to his affiliation with the Writers Guild of America strike, he does not intend to be present on the set of the final episode of the series. He also does not plan to participate in editing the final episode."
They link to his open letter, which isn't dated, but it sounds like it was written before the strike started. There is also an response posted to his letter which was written on November 7th. If they edited the episode without him then the season could be all completed by now and ready to go.
On the Wikipedia entry for "Dirt", one of FX's other shows, it says "Season two is tentatively scheduled to begin airing on January 1, 2008, however due to the 2007 WGA strike, production of further episodes could be affected." If Dirt is the next series to be shown, then they should be playing the first season on Saturdays now instead...
Anyways, if any show was starting in January, they haven't shown any promos yet regardless. What do you guys think about all this?
