The Man From Earth

Synopsis:
After history Professor John Oldman unexpectedly resigns from the University, his startled colleagues impulsively invite themselves to his home, pressing him for an explanation. But they're shocked to hear his reason:

John claims he must move on because he is 14,000 years old, never aging, and cannot stay in one place for more than ten years without his secret being discovered.

Tempers rise and emotions flow as John's fellow professors attempt to poke holes in his story, but it soon becomes clear that his tale is as impossible to disprove as it is to verify. What starts out as a friendly gathering soon builds to an unexpected and shattering climax.

From what I've read, this sounds like a gem of a movie. I'm really looking forward to catching it at some point.

For a second I totally thought you were saying The Man Who Fell To Earth (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074851/).

Totally different movie, still good.
The Man From Earth sounds kinda interesting. I'll read up on it a bit.

Edit: Just figured this post totally needed me saying totally more.
Totally.

I was just going to make the post when I saw you already have. After hearing the synopsis I knew I had to see this one. I did, and it's indeed great. My only complaints are the casting and the video quality. Video quality doesn't really matter, they shot on dv so some of the low light work is grainy but it's easy to overlook especially while engrossed in the plot, which you will be. The cast includes some familiar actors and some unfamiliar, and they're all pretty much character actors, which I don't tend to like. The cast serves the movie quite adequately though, and the story alone is enough to make this worth it.

I definitely think this would be a good one for the TRS guys to watch, then recommend to the audience (if they deem it recommendable) since it's independent and a bit obscure.

Just finished watching this movie. Wasn't the best movie I've ever seen, but it was a great idea. I actually think this would have been much more enjoyable as a book. The book could have gone into greater detail as to what kind of life he lead so long ago.
