(this is actually weird, i thought they were gonna tell me to screw myself when it came to christmas this year)

so, i need suggestions

i dont own any next gen consoles or anything, but than again, i dont want them to spend too much money

Yeah the DS would be a good solution. Not too expensive and great fun.

These guys are right, a DS would be a great solution. Tons of fun games, inexpensive, and you can take it with you wherever you go :)

Ask for cash. You're on college, you're gonna need cash for beer and chicks.

I would say tech stuff a good digital camera, a new Ipod, maybe a cheap laptop for learning linux or something. How about a TV or DVD player/recorder? I mean you aren't letting us know things that you are into, what ya got or anything here man haha.

Hmm, the new Zune's look pretty sweet. I'd take one of those over an iPod

Ipod touch is pretty sweet to. well besides the small hard drive space but all the other functions rock.

While we are on the christmas bandwagon, heres another question:

I want a Wii for christmas. My parents are procrastinators, so of course they haven't found one, and probably won't. What should I ask for instead? Most of you know me, but if you don't I've got a 360, a psp, a ds and a ps2. I've already got a nice laptop...I'm kinda at a loss.

i'd say get a gift card with the amount for the wii and just wait it out until you can find one/

Portable HDs are sweet. They've gotten better since I got mine. I have an older LaCie drive. What I like is that it takes both USB and Firewire. It'll power off the FW but not USB, so I leave USB here at work and FW at home. The draw back is the drive size. As I said things have probably gotten much better since I bought mine though.

I personally would go with Firewire if it's an option. I find it to be faster than USB 2.0 for the file transfers I make, but mileage may vary on user so go with what works for you.

Since mine is just a 12GB drive I'm hoping for a 30 or 80 Zune, for Xmas. I'll have to hack it to put anything but media on it, but that's pretty much all I use my LaCie for so it'll be sweet.

When all else fails, I always love getting a Best Buy gift card. If you get one for the amount of a Wii, you can try and hold out, or just blow it on other stuff.
