The Man from Earth tells the story of an impromptu goodbye party for Professor John Oldman that soon becomes a mysterious interrogation after the retiring scholar reveals to his colleagues he is an immortal who has walked the earth for 14,000 years.
I just saw this movie today and WOW. This might be the best movie I have seen in the last 5 years and definitely the best film of this year. Its very well written, acted and directed. If you like the movies Tape, Waking Life, Conversations with Other Women or The Big Kahuna you will love this movie. It's very similar in that it only has a few actors and the story is driven by compelling conversation rather than huge explosions and special fx.
where can I find it? is it in theatres? torrent?

i believe it's out on DVD however i wasn't able to find it in my town so i just got it via pirate bay. since watching it i will definatly be purchasing this one. also if you look at the forums on the imdb page for this movie there are a few interesting post from the director of this film actually talking about how much the torrent sites helped to promote this movie.
sorry for the repost....i didnt see the previous thread. but if anything is worth talking about twice its this film

No not really. No one is "busted". I am just hoping you can support the film by purchasing a DVD. I have much respect for P2P as this thread would not be happing right now if it did not exist.

Thank You soooooo much for the info...living in a small town sometimes amazon and other such sites are about the only places i can find things around here. I went by wal-mart (which is the largest retailer in my area) last night on a quest to see if they had this movie and unfortunately it was a no show. I am definitely gonna order this off Amazon though. i LOVE LOVE LOVED this movie and i can't thank you and everyone else who worked on this enough for putting out quality material like this. It's such a breath of fresh air to know that it doesn't take millions of dollars, big name actors, and lots of explosions to make a great movie.
