I've crossed paths with some douchebag teachers in my day aswell. My main trophy didn't come in the form of a back injury, it was an emotional blow delt to a substitute teacher who fled the room in tears.

Biology class, sophmore year of highschool-

We had some test on evolution or something of the sort which I aced except for one multiple part question. I could only name 2 of 3 reasons a certain species of monkey went extinct so I made up something literally about them possibly being gay. My regular teacher was on maturnity leave so the inexperienced substitute grading my test took off a bunch of points making my grade a B instead of an A and left a snide comment saying it was inappropriate and offensive. Which I understand, but she should have just marked that question as being wrong.

So I called her out infront of the class demanding to get credit for my correct answers on everything else. She was rattled a bit but she stuck to her guns. So I asked her what exactly it was about being a homosexual that she found offensive enough to dock me points, asking her to think if the prinicpal would also agree with her actions. She said all I was doing was making fun of homosexuals which wouldn't be tolerated in school and that threatening her wouldn't get me anywhere. So I explained that it was a scientific fact that 2 homosexual primates couldn't reproduce and that could contribute to their species going extinct, if only in the smallest way. I stated evidence that there are such primates in the world (saw it on discovery, and also learned that monkeys give oral sex to each other), and then I reminded her that I wasn't making fun of anybody and that she was the only other person that read my test and I wasn't trying to amuse her.

I figured just because it's not in our books doesn't mean I'm not right. Then I demanded full credit on that answer too, my classmates that werent too busy giggling agreed. She got defensive and tried arguing against homosexual animals and I interupted her speal saying that I wasn't comfortable talking to a teacher about gay sex. She asked me to step out into the hall and talk with her and I told her I wasn't comfortable being alone with her either and that I thought I needed to call my parents. Que the waterworks and emotional breakdown, followed by her abandoning the class never to be seen again. The laughter comming from the room she heard while power walking down the hall must have been salt in an open wound.

I guess his past is something he's open about though and he speaks to groups against racism.

Notice how I said I got the hot chick instead of this guy as a teacher/mentor. My life could have been changed forever but now I jerk off constantly to her memory and blame black people for the problems of the world. Maybe it's not to late to change though. I'm sorry for my ignorance Iggy, in a perfect world I would constantly be jerking off to you instead. Baby steps...

Its basically a large scale game of pingpong. Wood paddles, plastic ball, on a smaller scale court than tennis with a little net. And the scores after 5 minutes pretty much equated to an ass raping.

On that note lets discuss other gym games. In the midwest we played Matball. It's like kickball inside the gym and we used wrestling mats as bases so lots of kids can be on base at a time and like 20 kids are feilding. Also growing up in Texas, in elementary school we had the parachute and a beach ball we'd whip around with it and we'd hide underneath it making an air pocket. That was so much ****ing fun... I wish I could go back and play that as an adult.

I don't look at it as riding the coattails of TechTV. I look at it as the next logical progression of technology oriented entertainment moving beyond broadcast media.

Look at it another way, a sizeable portion of, say, the geekdrome fans probably don't watch or even like Diggnation, which has arguably the strongest ties back to TechTV.

I'd agree with JLo's review of the dahlia, the cut he saw sounds exactly the same as what was shown in the theather. I liked aspects of how the film was made, but as far as the story itself I was extremely bored throughout it and found myself just looking around the theather at people trying to pass the time or staring at minute areas of the set or dissecting how the film was made.

And what the hell was with all the actors chainsmoking in the film? I'm sure that' how it probably was during that time, but did they really need to place so much emphasis on it and amp up the smoke on screen?

they kinda did, cause DePalma (shitty shitty DePalma) made it a motif per motif Film Noir. Smoking is a big part of the ambience.

yeah, that's very much a film noir motif. smoking and shadows and femme fatales (the hot sexy woman will always betray the man in some way), anti heroes, someone dying as part of the end, a murder mystery, and even the way the wipes were done were down to the very last molecule a film noir. you seen things like double indemnity, touch of evil, maltese falcon, and even kiiiind of, Sunset Blvd.? totally like that. i just think it was unnecessary. probably better off as a book, like most books.

My reaction to the Apocalyptico trailer was "how the hell were they able to get away with showing boobies?!?!" WTF?!?! I've never seen that in a trailer that wasn't a 'Red Band' aka 'Approved for RESTRICTED Audiences' only trailer. DINOSAURICO was awesome I too demand a real version of it...but it must have the same type of animation.

As for gym stories my gym teachers were proficient. I however had no hand eye co-ordination. I clearly remember playing basketball and i wasn't getting in anything and to make it worse we had this game being played where they made us shoot from the 3 point line and if you missed you got closer and closer untill you can get it. I ended up.....underneath the net (and no i didn't get it in after that).

Small problem now that this episode is available on iTunes.

I download on iTunes, but for some reason since even before the update to v7, I have not been able to properly play video in iTunes. I have to go to the iTunes podcast folder and manually start them in a different app, which plays them just fine. (Nero Showtime, in case you're wondering).

Now that the feeds have started up for the show again, I've noticed you dropped the show name from the filename. I don't know whether you did this because v7 required a shorter filename or what, but right now in my "Podcasts" folder I've got two files named "September 25, 2006.m4v" and "September 28, 2006.m4v". It didn't even sort them into their respective show folders. If I didn't know who released when, it would get confusing mighty fast.

The names are also missing in the iTunes listing, but since I have all the old Geekdrome episodes, it decided I *didn't* have them because the titles are all just dates now, so it was trying to download them twice.

I guess this is my long-winded way of saying someone still needs to do tweaking on the iTunes feeds.

when i got the new itunes i noticed all my videos from the music store wouldn't work. i upgraded my quicktime and it solved the problem.

When I downloaded the iTunes update, it said that Quicktime was included, but I will look for a separate download just in case.

I have Pro if that makes any difference as far as the inclusion with iTunes goes.

I can already play it in an external player that I'm happy with, that's not the point. Plus I doubt VLC can play Apple DRM'd music videos.

I had 7.1.3 and I downloaded 7.1.3, so it was a matter of the error message being worded poorly. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, and it didn't help... I still get a refresh rate of one frame per every three seconds. I feel like I'm watching war footage from Iraq over satellite. The sound is fine, but the video is not.

If an Apple guru (r3v?!?!?!) wants to help me on IRC or through PMs, lets take it there so we can get back to Ep. 44.
