My question is where are you now?
I'm at my computer, in my room, in my house, in Irvine, in California, in the U.S.A, in America, in the World, in the solar system ,in the Milky Way Galaxy, in the Universe of Galacton i think 6 or maybe 5.
I'm also in Westfall, in Azeroth, in the realm of Dreanor, in the World of Warcraft.

I'm at my computer in my room as well. But I'm usually on the forums when I'm in school, I got the wonderful job of being a librarians aide for 3 periods straight. I'm in Spring Valley, New York a suburb of manhattan. And I don't know much about "the 'verse", or WoW.

I'm at my desk, in my empty office, where I spend most of my time, shackled to my computer, working.
What, posting on a forum is work!
I think I should go home now. Gotta be back in 8 hours......

I'm at work. I got an e-mail from my boss that the document I'm six hours or so from completing will be sent out tomorrow. And I am majorly procrastinating.

Booya is slang teen boys like to use. It has many meanings, and is hard to really define. My brother used it all the time, so I know, but I just can't explain it. It just kinda has a definition, kinda doesn't.

And do we really need to start every post with "I'm at a computer"
Aren't geeks supposed to be smart? Whatever happened to that stereotype?

Probably the same thing that happened to the stereotype of nerdy girls being unattractive. I have yet to see a gal on this forum that isn't good looking.
It's like Friends.
Also I'm at work. Freaking out.

Man, I wish I had a job where I could sit at a computer and surf the Rev3 forums.
I should seriously look for an office job of some kind. Could be cool. I just don't know if I'm qualified enough for it. I worked for two weeks for my uncle's programming company, but that was about it. And that was years and years ago. Are these types of jobs easy to get into?
Hehe...sorry for the questions. I just need a job that doesn't involve stacking boxes in the middle of the night, and that doesn't include flipping burgers or waiting on rich bastards who won't tip.

Don't know about Chi-Town, but cube monkey jobs are pretty easy to get. You just need to be an ace interviewee and show a modicum of smarts.

If we're answering this question, we should be at computers, of course. :)
A better question would be, "Where is the computer from which you will reply to this topic?"

A year and a half ago I didn't know even basic HTML. I hadn't worked a "real" job in years, having instead tried to found my own businesses. Successfully stated a design business I still have, and incorporated another business. My then-fiancé and I broke up (his infedelity with girls...and guys...), and I threw myself into studying tech like there was no tomorrow. We broke up for the last time in November, and in January, I saw an ad for a job in e-mail and internet security.
I didn't have the 7+ years experience nor did I have the advanced degree, having never been to college. The last actualy job experience had be as a receptionist at an animal hospital. I didn't let not having the experience get me down. I just wrote a kick-ass cover letter and detailed the experience I did have that was relevent. Based on that I got a call, and one thing led to another.
Ten months after starting I have a gross income of $60k and work part-time and can work from home, make my own hours, and take off whenever I feel like it. I'm an analytical engineer and I specialize in e-mail and internet security. Determination, ignoring people who said I couldn't learn programming in a few months, and just trying, got me where I am. I'll admit I did get a lucky break or two along the way, but no one else did it for me.
You've got to get out of the mindset that you can't do it and start taking some chances. The worst that will happen is that you will get a "no," and what will you get if you don't even try? Still a "no." You have the chance by at least trying.
