I had an idea for a show which would deal with all filesharing/p2p news, programs, techniques, sites, releases, etc...

The only problem would be keeping it legal, but then again sometimes you break the rules on the broken... so maybe it wouldn't be a big deal.

I think you would probably be able to get a sponsorship from Piratpartiet/The Pirate Bay, if you were to pursue this idea.

Hmm, well thats my rant for now. If you guys want to really do this eventually, I'll fricken fly out to Cali and film a pilot :]

As good an idea as it is, there's not enough P2P news that goes on to fill up more the 5 minutes a week. No point in doing a 5 minute show. :\

Tell that to "Mysteries of Science"..... (winkysmiley)

Of course, there's always new p2p news! Several spots could be done on a weekly basis. For example: p2p prosecution news (from all over the world), RIAA and MPAA court bloopers, new updates to old filesharing tech. Azureus ALWAYS is being updated with something in BETA.

There shouldn't be any fear of the information being illegal, as long as disclaimers were shown.

cool, I didn't think anyone would be interested. haha

well I think that if Rev3 really wanted to, they could pull tons of content, and maybe do it bi-monthly or something.

You can only talk about RIAA suing a dead guy so many times. As for 'court bloopers' - despite them suing people, they do know the procedures properly.

'new updates to old tech' - it doesnt get updated, thats why its old. if theres a show dedicated to azureus, its pointless, it's always beta - aka never working properly. besides, that would get boring really quickly, "azureus has a new update to lan peer finder fixing a bug if you use 10.8.5.x to 10.8.6.x on your lan in combination with linksys routers and a generic switch"

all this would still amount to 5 minutes of talk a week.

a majority of the 'p2p prosecutions' are done by BSA/others - for legit reasons - businesses using software for profit, etc - not the MPAA/RIAA. and that'd turn into corporate bullshit, not much else. boring talk.

The MPAA and RIAA situation is always evolving. New rulings have made it very difficult for them to win any of their cases. As far as them knowing their procedures, would you say that throwing as much shit against the wall and seeing what sticks is a "proper procedure"?

About Azureus: What I said earlier is called "an example." This occurs when someone has an idea, but for the sake of time and people's interest decide to only mention one or two "for instances" (I chose to mention one).

I still maintain that if someone wanted this project to work, they could make it work successfully. Would it be a weekly show? I don't know. Is Webdrifter weekly? It's still a very popular show on this site. But I'm sure that if someone here were to have thought of it, you would have gone on and on about how lame it would probably be. Maybe you should stop looking into you monitor at your own reflection and then transferring your feelings toward yourself at the creative forces of others.

Have a nice day.

I've worked with people from Slyck.com on creating a P2P news site, I know what im talking about in this case. There's not enough that goes on weekly or even biweekly to create a show that would be long enough to watch.

Hmmm I just found a new p2p story on digg today. What ARE the odds? It seems that there is a new uTorrent plugin for firefox. Amazing.

And it was a dupe from a story a two-three weeks ago. Brilliant Revelation.

And if I would have been informed of this story by some type of media... hmm... let's see, maybe an podcast, I would have known that the story was a dupe.

Thank you for proving my point.

What? Circular logic != winning the argument.

If you had paid attention the first time, you'd know it was a dupe.

This would work better as SubSystm episodes rather than a new series.

no seriously, if you think its a good idea, say why. dont just say 'see above' or other gibberish that doesnt help the debate. Im not an ignorant, closed-minded person that talks online to piss people off you know.
