There was a 2 weeks delay in the release of #10 and in that time I was hoping that there would have been a killer show giving the fans what we asked for. The VC baby thing was kind of cute, but really was it necessary? I mean what was even the point of creating The ONLY "What I would like to see on the next episode" thread when it's obvious that nothing on there is being taken seriously by Sarah. Episode 8 was a complete screw up thanks to the audio being deleted. 9 was about Thanksgiving, which seemed appropriate given the timing of that release, and I was seriously hoping for some redemption from Sarah with the release of episode 10. Unless something substantial comes along where we get to see detailed server porn, editing bays, and REAL behind-the-scenes magic, I'm not going to even bother giving this show the time of day much less a download tick by saving future episodes to my hard drive.

Agreed. Numerous people have responded well when she does interviews and in depth stuff at REV3. Yet, we keep getting "fruit club."

Meh. What a total disappointment. I think I might be more embarrassed that I downloaded that over fruit club.

I thought the no audio one was awesome. kinda a MST3K kinda thing going on.

No audio was good.

I'm not Knocking VC baby. it just shouldn't have been associated with R3G.

Hopefully they'll get the drift sooner or later that we consider the Gazette a real show. not a filler.

What a waste of time, tape, editing and bandwith to watch this horrible show. Lost a fan here.

Lala deserves to be on every "hottest" list Askmen put out.

I think some people on this forum are pretty greedy! Sarah has A LOT of work as Director Of Production for REV3 and the fact that she takes the time to do the Gazette AT ALL is pretty cool!

I agree that "VC Baby" was different and kinda' dissappointing without Sarah in it but EVERYONE does reruns or holiday programming this time of year on NETWORK TV and REV3 at least sent out an ORIGINAL video for Christmas!

I thought it was funny and well done!

Just be glad for the updates that we get from Sarah! We're lucky to be able to see them for free and it beats not having her on camera at all!:)

I think some people on this forum are pretty greedy! Sarah has A LOT of work as Director Of Production for REV3 and the fact that she takes the time to do the Gazette AT ALL is pretty cool!

How would you or anyone outside of Rev3 know what a Director of Production really is? I'm certain Sarah is really busy on a day-to-day basis, but why didn't she come out with a Gazette really explaining what the Director of Production really does? Why do I even need to take the time to write this forum post of speculate as to how a Director of Production is any different than what Patrick Norton or David Prager do on a daily basis?

"The Revision3 Gazette goes behind the scenes of our day-to-day productions. Get to know the people who create your favorite shows, watch our studio build progress, and find out who's having a meltdown. "

The problem I have with the Gazette is summed up right in those two short sentences. 10 episodes so far and really the closest we ever got to any behind the scenes stuff is in episode 7 where Sarah walks around the office and talks and points at stuff. How hard can it be to walk 50 feet to someone else's cube, point a camera in their face for 10 minutes while they're on their lunch break and just ask them what is going on? If time is really an issue, then what the hell was Sarah doing walking around the block in episodes 3 and 8 wasting time, tape and bandwidth not delivering the goods. I'm certain Sarah is a really great person (I mean she hooked up with Kevin Rose back in TechTV days), but 10 episodes in and it looks like nothing's going to change with the Gazette.

Maybe if they just changed the show description, I would have less of a problem and not complain as much, but so far I just feel misled about what this show was supposed to be and I feel like I've been jerked around thinking we would really get behind the scenes stuff, host interviews and copious amounts of server porn.

WOW!

If you don't like the program, you DON'T have to tune in but it's still better than the crappy reruns on G4 and a damn sight closer to the spirit of TechTV! It's supposed to be entertaining not hard hitting news and in depth journalistic content - enjoy it for what it IS not what it isn't!

Just proves my point that there are some pretty greedy ungrateful people who are quick to complain about the quality of FREE programming:(

WOW!

If you don't like the program, you DON'T have to tune in

Not tuning in (or more accurately not downloading) is exactly what I plan on doing. I guess you didn't read to the end of my original post.

"Unless something substantial comes along where we get to see detailed server porn, editing bays, and REAL behind-the-scenes magic, I'm not going to even bother giving this show the time of day much less a download tick by saving future episodes to my hard drive."

If you haven't noticed, Revision3 isn't anymore FREE than watching normal TV. Like TV Revision3 generates their revenue through advertisers and I feel I have the right to say something to the network (Rev3) when they aren't doing something right.

To add, we also can donate, and personally I donate and I had a problem with this past episode of R3G. BTW, I almost never complain, but this one I did, although I never stated any insults but wont get into this now. I'm giving R3G one more chance.

well the producer is in charge of the show(s), so I'm going to assume that since there's several producers at rev3 that the Director of Production, is in charge of all the producers. Thats not really a hard conclusion to draw.

And since Rev3 is coming out with 5 new shows in January (sorry Rev3 if that was a secret), and all those shows will have producers, I'm going to guess that Sarah has been busy trying to get 5 new shows off the ground the past couple of months on top of the regular schedule.

Also, it has been stated that the R3G has NO SPONSERS. Thus it is costing them money and time to make. From a business aspect, that makes no sense. So why do they do it? Perhaps as a special treat for the viewers? For that matter, if Louderback is as evil and corporate as everyone in the forums thinks he is, why would he allow for this show to happen? If R3G is something special that Sarah and Rev3 make for us because they cre about their fan base, then why are the fans being so greedy. I feel like they made this because they thought it was something that the fans would really enjoy. They do what they can to produce this extra little snippet for us, and people are acting like kids who are pissed because mommy had to work and couldn't make you cookies

I understand that the R3G hasn't delivered as much as we all hoped it would. All I'm saying is that R3G will be back and running smoothly as soon as Rev3 settles down.

But personally, if I was sarah, and I saw how unappreciative everyone was, I would stop R3G all together.

And come one everyone, Isn't it time to quit this thread? Sarah has posted a response in another thread (http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12764), so could we pleas get over all the "Sarah-is-stupid-and-we-don't-know-what-she-is-dong"-crap... :)
Maybe it would be better to try and give Sarah some useful feedback in that other thread, instead of everyone bashing each other :)

Both of those last two posts are RIGHT ON THE MONEY! The purpose of this thread originally was to be VERY negative and I'm not about that! I did not know of the other thread so I will stop wasting my time with ungrateful whiners on this one and DEFINITELY show Sarah my thanks and support in a more POSITIVE area of the forum! Thanks for bringing it to my attention!:)

to be fair, it seems some of the other women too were just hosts on a G4 show... So, it's clearly that it's women in tech business and not women who know tech.

This is to the whiners.

How much do you pay to watch the shows here? R3G is a behind the scenes secondary show. Do you know how much work goes into producing these shows even R3G? They have people losing sleep to put these shows up for you people. I am grateful for anything they put up for free! especially ones with hotties like Sarah, Jessica, Sari, etc. All of them in one show hmm... yeah baby, but I digress.
Anyway, go outside once in a while and get some fresh air. Meet some people and socialize. Maybe you can find a girlfriend so you don't have to spend so much time in front of your computer. I hear Jessica is single;). Sorry Jessica. Sarah and REV3 rocks!

I think you all need to chill out ASAP. She more than agreed the fruit club thing was dumb. She clearly has more obligations besides doing the Gazette and its just behind the scenes stuff anyway. I do not see where the law was laid that this show had to even be steady in releases so just back off. THe content is free, her time is not. Deal with it.

as a fan of fruit i happen to like it, nutrition seems like the key to a smooth office, as well as coffee

personally i'd just like to see more rev3 gazette, creative ideas don't always pan out to some global concept of whats good, but its a lot of work and credit where its due

my fav episodes have been seeing the rev3 offices and daily working enviroment

I could not agree more. I look at R3G as a nice little extra in appreciation of their fans. But since the fans don't appreciate it, yank it I say.

Sarah does listen. (http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12764)

Wanted to give you a heads up that there won't be a Gazette release this week or next week, but there will be a release on Wednesday, January 2nd.

<snip>

So... I think it's safe to say that although all of our shows are on regular, weekly schedules, the Gazette won't always be. I'll make every effort to post in this forum and give you all a heads up either way so you aren't left wondering, but it just won't be an iron-clad weekly thing, at least not for now. Sorry guys.

<snip>

Finally, I appreciate the candid posts in this forum. Good or bad, your feedback helps us figure out what's working and what isn't. That said, when I read posts that say things like "**** you" and "you should be ashamed of yourself", it makes it difficult for me to take your feedback seriously. We're working really hard to make our viewers happy and trying a lot of new things, so how about a resolution to try to keep some perspective in '08. :)
