I was def listing the best ones I could think of..thing is DS has hundreds of games and there is so many that are so great and I could not possibly list a top 3 or 5 just to hard.

It really comes down to what your tastes are...how ever you love animals so you might enjoy Nintendogs quite a bit and Animal crossing is a must.

If you like self rewarding games with thinking with great storylines and characters Phoenix Wright series (all 3 are connected) also Hotel Dusk if you like Point and click adventure detective solving stuff...RPGs then Final Fantasy.

Racing online or playing alone ...Mario Kart

Mario then the two I mentioned.

etc..etc...

DS has something to offer anyone.

imma fan of PokeMon games, they seem to always offer long game play and with the wireless battle system u cant go wrong. too much fun.

One that always flies under the radar is Dementium-The Ward.

It's a creepy horror like Silent Hill / Resident Evil.

if you like the paper mario series...you will love this game...even if you dont...still go buy it. such a great game. played it on my honeymoon. lol..just during traveling, and while she was sleeping..haha still.

also as much as ive hated the tony hawk series as of late.. tony hawk american sk8land is a great game. and you can get it cheap.

I recommend an amazing puzzle game called Meteos....
One of the best I've ever played.

Zelda: Phatom Hourlglass, though the end is a bit of a let down.

Pokemon. No questions.

Picross. Like sudoku for pictures.

Mario Kart. Simply addicting.

Animal Crossing: Wild World. Buy this LAST, because you'll be playing it for months on end.

Advance Wars. Awesome stratagy game.

Hotel Dusk - good story based game. Ever play Deja Vu? It reminds me of that
Puzzle Quest - just a lot of fun
Rune Factory - another Harvest Moon type game. Fun but time consuming
New Super Mario Brothers - if you're a mario fan, this is a must play

Pirate games.

Anyway most people buy those to pirate games anyway ..people who get them who say they don't use it to pirate is almost the same as presidential candidates saying they never inhaled.
