My mother had a coach's whistle.
My brothers and I had to be within ear-shot
for dinner at 7:30.
Good times.

Brilliant Episode.
I literally can't stop laughing at the fact they are seriously discussing the tactics and type of attacks needed to beat the shit out of swarms of 5 year olds.

Am I the only one having problems downloading the episode off Itunes? It'll do a complete download but I don't have the file any where and it doesn't play

This was the funniest part of any diggnation episode for me. I have never laughed that hard at a show. Oh man. I'm currently capturing it for youtube as we speak.

there are 2-3 skins for xp that i really liked, all official or semi-official from microsoft. "royale (http://arstechnica.com/journals/microsoft.ars/2005/5/8/248)", "royale noir (http://www.istartedsomething.com/20061029/royale-noir/#downloadlink)" and "Zune (http://stevenharman.net/blog/archive/2006/12/09/WinXP__Zune_Theme.aspx)". i think those all have multiple color sets. you can't have both royale and royale noir so probably skip noir. i always hated that green start button, so before i found royale i spent hours learning how to use reshacker, make and install custom themes--what a waste of time.
oh yeah it's probably pretty obvious to others, but the tay zonday video was for dr. pepper's new drink "cherry chocolate dr pepper". did nobody from the show read the description from the digg story? and obviously tay knows he's a joke, the goofy pictures of himself aren't him trying to be cool, they're just having fun with himself.

Tay Zonday is real. No joke. The video they watched was done for Dr. Pepper. Tay has been on Jimmy Kimmel as well, along with other songs he has written. And yes his voice does sound like that in real life.

gotta disagree with kevin with leopard. Find leopard faster, not a whole lot but there is a general speed increase, with the same stability as tiger.
In the year and a half i used tiger i remember 4-5 cases that i needed to reboot due to instability, and most was me messing with shit. I find leopard just as stable because now I'm using apple's apps that offer integration as well as stability. Virtue desktops to spaces, iterm to terminal, etc and most use a ton less ram. I program in eclipse all day so hopefully java 6 will come out soon. I've got time machine running in the background, i haven't used it a lot, still use ibackup just incase.

The biggest disappointment that has lead many of my friends to put XP back on their machines is the 'interesting' things that happen with games under Vista. You know something is wrong with Vista when Oblivion runs faster and with more stability on a similar-spec box running Ubuntu w/Cedega than with Vista. Prager as a fluffer... ok, Sean Cody might be hiring :)
As an aside, has anyone noticed how in the last three years or so, computers just aren't as fun as they used to be?
The girl with the steak knife is a fine example of why I am so happy to be over 35. I didn't have to deal with school shootings, idiot adults who think pocket knives are assault weapons, or being driven to school because parents won't teach their children how to fight back.

You can all ways try out Vista Transformation Pack (http://www.windowsxlive.net/?page_id=15) it won't look 100% like Vista of course but it's decent at doing so.
Really enjoyed this episode I liked the Fluffer joke at the end.

Huh? What kind of "interesting" thing? I've got an X2 5600+, 4GB of DDR2, a 8800GTS 512MB, and running Vista Ultimate x64. And I haven't had issues like with Vista and Games. Perhaps it was your build or a specific game?
Also, I was kind of surprised by that story. I hadn't seen it on digg, but there is at least one major thing wrong with it. Vista came out in November of 2006. It shouldn't be in a story about "disappointments" of 2007. I use quotes, because the things listed are only disappointing because people hyped them up way too much. Take Mass Effect for example. Is it a bad game? No, it's a pretty good game. It's just people were hyping it up like it was the second coming of Christ.

thanks for clearing that up. i was gonna have to do it, if no one else did.
his original video was legit, then hired by Dr. Pepper to do their promo. if kevin and alex had watched to the end they would have seen the HUGE product plug at the end.

Great episode guys. Especially liked the e-mail segment.
In Denmark, where i live, people are living like they're in the fucking 90'. Aparently being a geek is not okay here. But you know what. I don't care. You can't live your life acting like you're someone you're not. If people see you as an "uncool" person because you like tech, comic books etc. It's because they don't have enough self esteem to do something out of the usual themselves. Of the girlfriends I've had, none have been geeky. But i would never date someone who would want to hide a part of my personality.
