My first DVD purchase is hard to define... my first player came with 6 DVDs and for the life of me, I can only remember ONE of them. "Stepmom" with Julia Roberts. I HATED that movie, and it took me up until Barterbee to get rid of the damn thing. Nobody would bid for it on eBay.

My latest DVD purchase is the Veronica Mars S2 set... I had to catch up.

my very first dvd purchase was "Black Hawk Down" I thought I'd like it because of all the people in it... I've never been able to get more than 25 minutes into it. I guess I forgot that I can't watch war movies. I had other dvds but that was the very first one I bought myself.

my most recent dvd purchase was: X3, The Little Mermaid and The Exorcism of Emily Rose

First - "From Russia with Love", Some time in 1999.

Most recent - "Elmo's World"

I'm not a really big DVD collector. I do have a bit of a collection. But, I'm unwilling to invest in a format isn't HD. Nevertheless, I do have a fairly active NETFLIX account. As long as there's NETFLIX, I'll never need to buy a DVD.

First: the awesomely bad The Fast and the Furious, so many great quotes.

Last: Conan Special Edition, which reminds me that I still need to watch Conan the Destroyer.

That brings me closer to completing my Arnold DVD collection. What I really want is the amazing piece of work that I grew up on, Commando. It's been so long since I've seen it.

OMG! I so TOTALLY AGREE! I truly Hate "Carnival of Soul" and now they've made a new version, Why GOD Oh WHY?!?!?! IS all originality Dead?

First DVD I purchased was "Starship Troopers: (Mini Review, Kewl Flick, not as good as the book)

Latest DVD Purchase Battle Royale II: Requiem, AND if you've seen the first one, you'd probably think how could they mess up a sequil? THe First one was just "Over the Top" awesome, you'd love it, trust me dude, "Battle Royale" is just so KEWL, but DO NOT View Battle Royale II; Requiem. What a steaming pile of crap.

Battle Royale, a class of kids is sent to an island, and only one can come off alive, battle to the death, the lighthouse seen is just AWESOME, super dooper Kewl.

Battle Royale II (the writer and director of the first BR died, so his son thought it only right, to start his career disgracing his father, I hope he committed Hari Kari, the sack of Poo.) there is no nice way of describing this Crap. I wasted money, but if I can save just one fo you from buying BR2, then it's all been worth it, DO NOT SEE THIS FILM! Feel Free to spit on it when passing it! REally, it's just that bad,... maybe worse

Ideas for new films;

A) Guy goes to desert find a snake, makes him his pet, the sanke is Satan, comdey ensues

2) Gal goes out for ice-cream, trips in rift in space-time continuem, ends up egypt or Greece, before civilization kicks in, inspiration ensues

C) Friends are out drinking beers, passout, they wake up somewhere totally like the land of Oz, but they have beers, Weed, and Pick-up trucks, Comedy ensues

4) Man(or Woman) falls in love with chicken, friends scorn then learn not to judge others, big ending (SPOILER ALERT) Chicken saves the Earth by falling into vat of Fried oil, a tear fall, the chicken tastes okay, a bit dry.

E) Space adventure, featuring Stoners n a positive light.

6) DeepSea adventure, featuring Stoners in a positive light.

G), Fantasy adventure, featuring Stoners n a positive light.

8) Pirate adventure, featuring Stoners n a positive light.

I) Dramady adventure, featuring Stoners n a positive light.

10) Caped adventure, featuring Stoners n a positive light.

K) Nice shoed adventure, featuring Stoners n a positive light.

12) Smileys :) o.O ;.; :( ;P XD

M) Zombies take over alien planet and Space exploring Stoner adventure, featuring Stoners n a positive light, save the planet and grow Hemp...Everyone Wins

My first purchase was The Little Mermaid, and I do NOT mean this recent release. I'm talking the release 10 years ago before most people had DVD platers. So it's funny to me that my most recent purchase is the "platinum" edition of...The Little Mermaid. I guess I've gone full-circle. :)

I think my answer makes sort of a nice bookend..

First was The Fifth Element
Last was Atlantis (the luc besson film that I finally saw was on DVD here in the US)

Not that I don't love some cheesy (super?) action, but I really wish this guy would go back to directing for real. Not sure if he's really quitting film or not.

Whatever you do, don't buy Art School Confidential. It has to be one of the worst movies that I ever purchased.

I watched it last night. The black eye of my collection.:(
