i was watching the TZDaily today and he was talking about windows shortcut keys. he seemed to skip over my favorite one of all
windows key + r = Opens the run box (very useful in conjunction with cmd)
have any other great keyboard shortcuts that he missed? any chance to cut the mouse out of the equation, i'll take it.

Sorry to say this Jim,
But it's Ctrl-Alt-Esc to bring up the Task Manager.
Not Ctrl-Shift-Esc.
As Thurloat said above I also find Windows key + R the most usefull
I Would also use Windows + D to toggle the Desktop.
first use shows your Desktop,
2nd time restores what windows you had open
you could also use Windows key + M to minimize everything.

Yeah windows key + r is great, especially in Vista (since it doesn't have the Run icon in the start menu by default).
However, my favorite shortcut that I actually just learned recently is pressing F2 on a highlighted file or folder to rename it.

^he has a crappy machine and assumes its Vista. I have used it since beta and have had no issues other than Google desktop destroying Outlook 07.
Since I work on machines alot I use windows + r "run" , ctrl-shift-esc "task manager" However, i always use even though its not a window shortcut key, right click My Computer and click Manage to get to Computer Management Console that allows me to device manage, disk defrag, and use other administrative tools that windows has to offer.
Also this is a fun windows shortcut key joke for around the office, try shift + alt + printscreen to switch to high contrast mode.

another way to get in there : windows key + r -> compmgmt.msc

I don't know maybe Jim is just a fanboy douche bag, i have had Windows vista Ultimate since it came out and i have had no problems with it, i have had more problems with my Mac book pro. so in my opinion Vista > OSX Leopard

yea, I can do that but I figured by the time I type out compmgmt.msc I could have already right clicked my computer and clicked manage. A lot of people have my computer icon on the desktop so its like two clicks away. Also when typing compmgmt.msc I always want to add in vowels. :p

I have little issues with both. Most issues I see with Vista and Leopard come from when people upgraded their previous OS instead of doing a fresh install.

Not anymore. Making fun of Vista is not funny after a whole year...
