I have to tell everyone that I think Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is one of the most awesome games I have ever played. The graphics are some of the best that I have ever seen, the music is incredible and at times frightening, and the story is just awesome. I HIGHLY recommend that anyone who has the cash go and pick this game up RIGHT NOW. Yeah, it's THAT good. :D

If only I had the cash for a PS3!

The game does look really good.

I just finished the demo. Is the game the same thing as the demo throughout? Meaning is it the same type of shoot the bad guys climb some stuff and find your way around or is there variety to the game?

Either way I am buying this game. Demo was fun. I heard the game is short but well worth it.

I gotta say. I just found that trick thats supposed to increase the detail on a ps3, the rgb and white settings. Now i dont know if it really made things more detailed or just made me actually look at how good drakes is, but i swear to god, when your in FPS mode ( over the shoulder zoom ) i think drakes is the most realistic game i have seen to date. I just have the demo and ran through the first scene a few times, but i was floored by the graphics and the gameplay was a lot of fun. I was thinking today about buying a game but i couldnt decide on what or what console. Thnx to this topic i think i just made my choice.

Yeah, after I played the demo I initially thought that there had to be more and trust me there is. The story actually makes you WANT to keep going to find out what happens next. There are a couple REALLY MINOR puzzles but they take only about 3-5 minutes to figure out. As you get farther and farther into the game you get more and more immersed in the experience. There are also MANY gunfights. Also, the demo isn't the beginning. The demo covers a very small portion of the game after the first major part that sets up the story. And is it just me or does Nathan's hair look totally rad? I'm about to get mine cut like that. :D

(Trust me, I want to send spoilers up and down this page but I don't want to ruin the experience for anybody :D)

One minor moment, not really a spoiler, but If anybody gets the game, there is a part where it goes to a cut scene where one of your enemies is dead in a booby trap and Nate say's "There's something wrong, it's absolutely silent............we're being watched". That part is incredibly spooky and that by itself would sell the game for me.(If only they would have shown that in the demo.) :D

Hmmmm, well that depends on what they mean by short. It seems pretty darn long to me. I played for 5 HOURS STRAIGHT yesterday and finally hit the sack at 4:30 AM. The game is much deeper than you may think. I think you'll really enjoy it! :D

Took me ~9 hours to finish my first playthrough. I just finished it for the second time and shaved about an hour off that time. Amazing game.

Oh my freakin' freakin' freakin' goooooooooshhhhhhhh. My heart is beating like 1,000,000,000 per minute right now. Mormanrage will probably know what I'm talking about with the fact that that frightening music eventually brings forth something pretty F-R-E-A-K-Y. Hey Morman, so I don't spoil it for others, I'm walking down that DARK hallway encountering............yeah, you know what I mean. I had to take a 5-minute break to re-evaluate myself and come up with a plan to kill those.....yeah..... AWESOME part or what!?!?!? NOW THIS IS A GAME!!!! After this I strongly urge anyone with a PULSE to buy this game.

Amazing game. I played it through all in one sitting of about 6 hours. And to the dude that started this Thread. You are right about the scare factor. I was playing this game at around 2 in the morning in the dark with headphones on when the shit hit the fan. A few parts made me jump and at times i didnt even want to continue on for fear of what was coming.

This all being said i dont think its worthy of a buy. This is a DEFINITE rent but for lack of replay value not a buy.

And just a little hint for whoever is at the scary part. dont bother aiming just point what ever weapon you have at the...........and will it kill the......cough cough.....and don't forget to roll around alot.

and for all those who aren't at this part you might wanna shut off the lights and play sitting alone in the dark around chapter 17 give or take.

I bought this game and have played it a bit. Overall I have to say that I'm not overlly impressed. The graphics are nice, if not a bit generic, but I thought the gameplay was pretty much Tombraider with more shooting. If you love Tombraider and thought "Wow, this would be great with more slightly fustrating gunplay" then you'll probably love this. When reading PS3 reviews I always have to take them with a grain of salt. The PS3 isn't exactly overflowing with great games right now and I get the feeling the bar is lowered a little for this reason. I think it's an above average game, but I wouldn't nessesarily reccomend it if it was on another system.

Yeah, definitely. I always play with my lights off and that is the only way to truly experience this part of the game, and pretty much every other part as well. :D I killed a bunch of em' but the hall split into two. I like to COMPLETELY clear the area of any "things"/enemies so 2 jumped out unexpectedly and I was just like "Oh forget it!" and just started swinging my fist even though I KNEW you couldn't kill them that way or even land a punch for that matter. I'll take another stab at it in a little while. :D

Then you really have to get a little farther into it. That was my notion when I played the demo but boy was I mistaken. How far are you in the game?

Not too far dude. I only just got it. I got the map from and everything but I'm sort of escaping or something. I've been all through the ruins and stuff where we crashed etc. I'm just not finding it compelling enough at the moment.

Oh please I beg of you be patient. The game gets MUCH better from here on out. MAN! I REALLY want to throw out some spoilers so that you can see what I mean but they are, after all, spoilers. There are a LOT of "different" types of game play coming up. PLUS, you HAVE to get to the scary part that we're all talking about. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! :D

NJShadow have you completed the game yet?

As i stated earlier i dont think i would buy it simply becasue it is only single player and not much replay. But man RENT IT if you have a PS3 you wont be disappointed. The game-play is repetitive for a lot of the game but it does change. You cover system is a must and it will become much more frantic as the game goes on.

Also the vault level is one of the best looking levels i have ever seen in a game. It was like i was playing the end of the movie labyrinth but no weird gravity and no David Bowie taunting me while singing and playing with his balls....his crystal balls that is.

I think my only complaint about his game is how the bad guys ALWAYS manage to find you or even sometimes beat you to an area that is supposedly unexplored.

Drake: This place has been abandon for centuries.

Me: Really than why is that light over in the corner hooked up to a fuel powered electric generator.

I bought it and I'm glad I did. I've already played it twice and anticipate going back to it when there's an inevitable Spring gaming lull.

I think your complaint is a valid one, logically, but it's pretty much the convention in the movies Uncharted is based upon. You've got two groups racing to find the same treasure, each with different pieces of the puzzle. And every time you think you have the upperhand, you get one-upped. I liked it for that.

Admittedly, everytime I try to play the demo, I keep wanting to throw Tomb Raider: Anniversary in.

that said, it is on my gamefly list, and hopefully will get sent (along with Assassins creed) soon.

Well, I picked up the game yesterday and I haveto say...I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!

I couldn't stop playing it. I played about 5 hours straight and I kept saying I'll stop at the next chapter but when I got there I wanted to know what was going to happen next.

The game is so beautiful. There is one spot where you get to the top of a building and you could see off into the distance. I just stopped and stared at how good it looks.

If you own a PS3 than this is a must buy. I am not a huge fan of Tomb Raider games but this game is Totally Rad!!!:)

I got this game for Christmas and beat it in 3 days. I couldn't stop playing it, it was so addicting. One of the best games I've ever played. Unfortunately there is no multiplayer mode, so I guess I'll just play Call of Duty 4 in the meantime and then go back after a while and beat it on hard mode.

I just finished the game too. I love the twist in the game. It made it feel like a whole new game. It was like watching a great movie at the same time playing an awesome game. Can't wait for Uncharted 2.:D

I'm thinking about trying to beat it on expert, but after you choose a new difficulty and it says "Do you want to keep the medals you've earned?" Does that mean that you lose the ability to go to any level or cut scene until you beat it again?

Very interesting. Makes sense.
