G'day,
Reading through the "Games you wanted that got canned" thread, I noticed a few people talking about the ever rumored Final Fantasy VII Remake. I think Tomb Raider Anniversary was quite good on most systems but the Wii and It got me thinking, what game would people here like to see remade?
It could be remade on the PS3 or 360 with great graphics and sound, or online play, or maybe remade as an MMO or even on the Wii with motion controls?
I used to play a game on the Commodore 64 called Hounded. it was a dog training and racing simulator where you were basically a "stable" of sorts and you would buy dogs and train them and feed them and race them. Each dog was generated by the system and auctioned and you could name it yourself. You could also bet on races to earn money, but you'd also get money for dogs that you have trained if they placed. You could sell dogs and the system would keep them in the industry and you'd often see dogs you'd trained and sold come up in races down the track. The best part of this game was that it was truly multiplayer. You could have, as far as I know, an unlimited number of players and each turn you would select the different options to manage your dogs and also bet on races etc. I remember my family would all have a player in the game and it would be a great game to play with a few beers on a weekend and have a laugh. I can only imagine this game remade on the 360 for Xbox Live. You could essentially set up leagues and have the same kind of fun online in a persistent competition. The power of the 360 also means you could take a lot more factors into account for breeding etc. and make the races more exciting with great graphics and sound. Perhaps even change it to something a bit more popular like Horse Racing. We've seen thing like G1 Jockey but they mostly revolve around the player actually riding the horse.
I'd be interested to read anyone else's ideas for remakes.
