I have to admit I never thought I'd say that!

Anyway, it is a:

iMac 20" model
Intel Core 2 Duo (2.16 GHz)
2 GB DDR2 ram @ 667 MHz
256 MB ATI Radeon X1600
250 GB HDD

any suggestions on this ? This is my first Mac and I want it to last a while.

That's going to be more than enough for anything you could want. I'm assuming you're not using it for work, school, or any type of profession that you will need that much power and space for, so you should be set(I say this because I'm guessing if you edit videos, music, or photos specifically, you'd already know how much space and power you're going to need in your machine).

And anyway, I don't believe you can configure your machine much higher, if at all, than your current configurations, so as I said, it will be more than enough(perhaps too much, even).

What are you going to be using it for? That will give us a better picture of how much power and space you actually need inside of it.

A lot of pirating. I mean, downloading. Shoot, I should edit this.

But seriously, I will be using it quite a bit for movies, music, bittorrent, coding, adobe photoshop, and I guess the built-in apps.

I do want speed...

Welcome to the dark side. That should do you just fine for whatever it is you'll be doing.

Just a quick question, when do you think the next upgrade to the iMac will be released?

No one knows. I could tell you it wouldn't be worth it to wait a couple months if you don't need the machine now, but knowing Apple they could announce an upgrade in a week. I highly doubt anymore changes will be coming to any Apple computers at least until early next year.

And yeah, that will definitely be enough.

I have about 4000 songs at 15gb, 10gb of movies(that's 10 movies), a whole season of the World Poker Tour at 15gb(16 episodes, I believe all 2 hours long), and I work a lot in Photoshop in my spare time and my machine only has 1 gig of RAM and a 120gb HD, and I still have 40gb of free space(I would delete the movies and shows, but I simply don't need to) -- so basically what I'm saying is, you'll be more than pleased with that machine.

OK thanks.

I will be paying Apple soon & then let you know if I like it when I receive it.

Hi everyone,
just got my mac (finally) and I love it.

Still getting used to the no "Maximize" button and I don't exactly like the mighty mouse, but so far it looks good.

max os 10.5 is due out in January. So you will have to spend another £80 in jan if you want to keep up with every one.
