Longtime fan and viewer here. From TechTV to The Broken, Systm (when Kevin was still a part of it) and now diggnation from Episode 1.
What the heck is up with Alex's laugh? It seems that whenever he laughs you hear a rattle or chortling in his throat. Is this something new? I don't remember this in the very early episodes of diggnation. A result of too much alcohol? Anyone have any idea?
Am I the only one who has noticed this?

I've been watching diggnation on the day it releases for over a year and I've never noticed it.

Yes I notice it too. I used to think it was his laptop hard drive spinning up or something haha

It's just the mic that may pick up "odd" sounds.

Wow, of all things to pick on. Just about every laugh sounds odd if you break it down like this.

Definitely not picking on Alex's laugh. Just an observation. I noticed every episode and I hadn't heard anyone else point it out. People point everything else out, like their haircuts, gotees, clothes, surroundings, etc. I don't see this being anything different.
It's definitely not a mic thing, because I work in a pro-audio environment and I've never heard a mic make that kind of noise picking up someone's laugh. I think it's a rattling in his throat. Everyone has those little curiousities about them.

It's 100% a mic thing. You wouldn't notice it in the room.

Check out the final few seconds of "Groupfully" the latest episode of Totally Rad Show and you will hear Alex's rattle laugh. It happens two or three times in a few seconds. Different show, completely different environment, same sound.
I think this disproves the mic theory.
Check it out.

I can hear it, and I've always wondered what the heck it was. I figured it was just some sort of a weird throat rattle thing.
Doesnt seem like a mic thing to me.
Pointless topic, but interesting, nonetheless.

I've heard a person make that noise when laughing before. I've even done it a few times before. It's not a mic issue, it's just the something in his throat or something that makes that noise when he laughs hard. I think it's either like his vocal cords, epiglotis, or uvula. Something like that and it just clicks/vibrates when he exhales very strongly while laughing.
