In the Justin.tv episode, it looks like the Sarge is using a cane as he walks into that dive bar with Justin....
Am I mistaken?

He's had a cane in a lot of the episodes. He was injured while on a sailing trip to discover the center of the earth. While being a mere 100 yards away from the holy grail, a giant red creature with 17 arms suddenly rose from the water and shouted: "ARRRGHHH I AM THE NEW CEO AND I DON'T LIKE YOU!!" and he smashed Marty's leg with its fierce, although midget-like, arms.

And that is how Marty broke his leg. True story.

the cane is protection against the unwashed masses and roving gangs of teenag-ed ruffians. Once, while exiting a local Howard Johnson's, I saw him mercilessly beat a hobo with it to impress the two buxom starlets on his arm. I can only guess it was some bizarre hors-d'oeuvre preceding a buffet of debauchery and depraved sex-acts
