View Full Version : An Idea for The Show...

I just had an idea. I don't know if this would spoil the homegrown-ness of Diggnation or not, but I thought I'd throw it out there and if someone sees it, and it makes it on the show, maybe I'll get an appearance or a free T-shirt or a Wii or something...Hahaha.

But, wouldn't it be cool if Kevin hung a picture frame on the wall behind the couch where they sit with a green screen in it. Maybe a medium-large sized simple black frame with a green screen inside it to overlay videos, graphics and screenshots of what they are talking about (a lot like what they do on news shows). This would save Praeger from cutting to a full screen video and taking the camera off Kevin and Alex during the show and could possibly capture more reactions etc. Fan Pictures could cycle through it during certain times, even headings or the amount of diggs a story gets. I think this would look really cool and wonder what everyone else thinks?

It would be pretty easy to implement, it could be taken down and replaced with kevin's normal art or whatever he has on the wall in that space and would only have to be used during the show. Alex could also have one at his apartment for the times they shoot Diggnation in L.A.

Anyway, Love the show...Just a thought.

Jeff.

When there are reactions to be seen, then a video will play in the corner. I don't need to see them scrolling through an article instead of seeing it on full screen. Also, what would play when there's nothing to see? Distracting graphics? The work of cutting to a full screen video would just be instead used to work the blue screen. Nah, it's fine as-is.

I think they need to switch up the location. Maybe outside more. or the park or something or back at the Digg offices.

Yep...It seems as if Glenn does a pretty good job of putting videos/screenshots in where it is needed. Plus, not all of the stories need this. But check out The Totally Rad Show, they use a green screen like a weather channel. But thats a show that needs it more than diggnation.

Love the enthusiasm in the ideas but diggnation is so spectacular because of its simplicity.

I am buying what you are selling.

Look no one has a suggestion for Diggnation that can make it better. They don't need houseplants or throw pillows. Diggnation is what it is because of what it is.

They don't need tweeting birds. What they have to do is just keep sticking with the format that helped start and make Rev3 the top Internet TV/Podcast network around. Don't change anything.

Interesting idea, but I think they have their system down when it comes to inserting media in the shows. Also, as Aria pointed out, I rather see what they are talking about then see their reactions.
