I work for a major cable company in Canada. (no, we don't live in igloos). I was wondering if you guys could figure out how to put a larger hard drive in the Motorola 6416 HDPVR. Apparently the firmware limits the HDD to 160GB. I call BULLSHIT!!! I want to put a nice 500GB in one so I can record all the porn I want.

Gotta ask - does that model have a firewire port? Just hook up an external HDD in a firewire enclosure. the drive will be encrypted, so you can just unplug and plug it into a desktop to transfer shows, but it does give a great expansion option.

All the ports on the unit has been disabled but can be enabled from a firmware flash through the cable system for further uses.
