For anyone who has NOT seen the latest episode of the Gazette in one of the monitors of the new studio we see a graphic of a new show called "the digg reel" and even the domain name is held at godaddy....obviously his was not to be revealed to us quite yet on purpose but now that the cat is out of the bag anyone care to speculate what this show might be?

Are the Digg guys bent on creating a media empire? Who knows. But the mini-Murdochs behind Digg and Revision3 ? that is, Kevin Rose and Jay Adelman ? have launched a TV show called The Digg Reel, featuring the top videos submitted to Digg. It?s hosted by Jessica Corbin.

Where is that site getting its info from? While it sounds true, it is hard to believe that site, especially when links are broken, etc.

Guess we are in a wait and see mode until Rev3 say something about it.

A tech guy who can't get site to work properly. ;)
But yeah, I'm not discrediting him... I'm just saying... I need sources! Heh.
Anyways, it sounds like the show is going to be like VH1's WebJunk... where they take all the "hot" internet videos and put together into a show.
More Jessica, the better. Heh.

Did somebody else notice that they re uploaded the episode. Now the scene where you saw the image is zoomed in so that Dave Randolph's head is cut of. I think they don't want nobody to know. I can make screens of it if have booth files.

I'm downloading the small quicktime version right now to confirm this. If this is true, that's friggin crazy. I feel kinda cool being that I think I was the first person to post about it too. You'd think they would have noticed that when they were editing the episode being that it's RIGHT NEXT to David Randolph's head.
Edit: Holy shit, you're right! This is hilarious. They ought to just announce the show and what it's about. This just makes them look rather silly. C'mon guys, we all know what's going on. Just announce it already!
Edit 2: Just submitted the screen shot I took to Digg. Let's get the word out people! Freedom of the press... or something! http://digg.com/tech_news/New_Revision3_show_The_Digg_Reel

Here is a screen cap form my iTunes file.

And here a screen cap of the one I just downloaded. The whole frame is zoomed in. The paper on his left is cut of as is a part of his head.

Edit: Sorry I didn't see your post, was busy with the screens and didn't refresh the page.

This is genius marketing on Rev3's behalf. First they "accidentally" leak the news ... everyone starts talking, and then they edit it... and MORE people start talking. Genius!

I'm pretty sure they didn't mean to show it but the way it turned out they had to spin it the best way possible.

As in film reel. Apparently the show is going to highlight the best of the videos submitted to digg.com's video section.

To be honest DiggReel wouldn't really work with just videos but never the less
In my opinion this would be a daily show with just some ofthe top stories on Digg on that day. Sort of WebbAlert come Diggnation.

Given away by Kevin saying daily podcasts are the new weekly for 2008 and will take off big style (on this week's diggnation).
