Hello guys, whats been good?
Well sorry for starting this thread i thought since Dan is the Admin here and Jay too and both are from Digg, i thought it was best since they can see this thread along with all the members of Revision 3.
To start this off, i am actually a very big fan of digg untill recently i got caught up in a situation.
I am admin from a web community called kenetix.net and recently we released a new tutorial for creating PHP-Nuke themes a step by step tutorial.
So i thought great, well maybe some people would place it on digg and it will defintely help the PHP-Nuke community to find out that kenetix.net could not be entered into the digg system.
the following error message was appearing "Please link directly to the story source. This URL has been reported as a news middle-man, it will remain blocked for 0 days."
The first thing that struck was me, was ..oh my it must have been some members from kenetix.net community that digged some topics that were being disscussed on kenetix.net this topics were from different articles so i suppose some members thought they would just post the link thru kenetix.net without placing the direct link of the article or whatever it was.
So having known that i still didnt understand blocked for 0 days meant what?
But i certainly knew how kenetix.net got involved being in an middle man news.
So i said fine i thought i will mail digg... i mailed feedback@digg.com twice after 2 weeks no reply.. in the mean time of the two weeks i mailed webmaster@digg.com and abuse@digg.com as well as admin@digg.com. I had received no reply.
Now i really think this is unfair, because we have no control over what members might post on digg or whatever. I just think it was a very unfair treatment that we have received and nothing was taken into consideration not even replying my mail when i wated to know what that error meant in the first place ....i just thought digg was more professional then this.
I hope Dan would see this message, because i have mad respect for him and his work that he has done and contributed to everyone along with Jay.
What were you guys thinking?? i never thought digg would be so ignorant??
Honestly.. i am more dissapointed then shocked about what had happened.

in my world you are called a attention-seeking-spammer. seeking attention. trying to advertise your own site. that-s why you are in my ignore-list. have a nice day.
oh. there are rules and ways to contact admins. especially if you consider yourself one, you should know that.

I wouldn't worry much about him.
Anyway, I would probably try PMing the admin here and see if he can help you.

Thanks for the support i hope you can clearly see the problem in here. :(

I am sure that the problem is simply due to the fact that Digg probably get innundated with e-mails. The majority of their staff is likely techs whose primary job is to keep digg running smoothly and to create new updates and ideas. I imagine little time is spent responding to e-mails.
I am not saying they are right, just that you shouldn't think they are being jerks. I am sure that the situation will be resolved.
And for the record, I don't think you are a spammer.

No problem, man. I think it's pretty safe to say that every algorithm ever made will have some sort of problems and it seems like Digg's gaming algorithm caught you by mistake, a false positive.

True, plus don't they have only about 15 people working at Digg?

Hey there,
Shane cannot do anything for you, he is the forum's administrator only. You did the proper thing by contacting digg directly. To be fair, Revision3 and Digg are two seperate companies for those unaware. Also, I already spoke with Dan on your behalf and you were given a reply, albeit indirectly, through myself.

I was gonna suggest that he not take his complaint to an almost unrealated forum.
If he can't get satisfaction through email (and who does?). He should really write a real-world written letter. A letter, with a properly identified sender, will be a lot harder to ignore. If his business is legitimate, I can't see them ignore him.

There's no address posted anywhere that I've found. I needed to get in touch with Revision 3 about a business matter, but the best I could do was an email because they don't post any addresses. I just took a quick look around Digg, and it seems to be the same case.

Trying to find locations isn't rocket science.
Digg is run by Digg, Inc (found in the TOS and the FAQ).
A whitepages search of Digg, Inc in the San Francisco are returns this page (http://yellowpages.superpages.com/listings.jsp?SRC=comwp&sid=12213&STYPE=S&PG=L&R=N&C=&N=digg+inc&T=san+francisco&S=CA&search=Find+It) ... including a phone number and an address.

And if they wanted to be contacted that way, I'd have to assume they'd post it in the contact section.

And if they wanted to be contacted that way, I'd have to assume they'd post it in the contact section. Its not hidden. Its not a mystery. Its just not on their "contact page". As a company that works in an online world, I can appreciate why electronic comms is best for them, but for those that need it, the brick and mortar location is easy enough to find.
Whether you will find anyone there is another question ...
