Imagine sitting down to watch "Lost" later this week only to find out its not going to be on. Wouldn't happen right ? IPTV people, don't feed us crack then take it away, its cruel.

Ok. That's perfectly fine. I'm just glad I was informed instead of refreshing the main page every 10 seconds waiting for it to show up.

Hopefully its by 10:30 EST. And most of us are just waking up from our daytime rest since we do not like the light.

It's 6 minutes late! OMG! I'm going to die! Like OMG!

Just kidding. I usually expect a release between 10PM EST and 11PM EST so it's cool.

If you are sick of refreshing the page use this lil app i whipped in vb (no not the forum, the language).

http://www.diggdown.net/SiteChecker.zip

Included is msinet.ocx which is required for operation. If you're not using XP you may need the vb6 libraries also, just google msvbvm60.dll . Open the app, enter the diggnation url, http://revision3.com/diggnation , enter "Episode 65" in the bottom box and hit "On". Get and set retrieve your previous strings and set them respectively. It only downloads the html so its a little less intensive on rev3 i would believe.

At least Jay cares. That's why Rev3 is awesome... Sure it's an hour late, doesn't bother me. That's more posts in the forums and more time to lurk other sites.

If Rev3 really wants to vanguard this IPTV movement, they need to get regular with thier releases, because if you want people to think of it like watching professional television, they have to be able to prepare for a release and have it there.
Maybe you could release sundays, or start filming on wendsday.
I know this is your first release after the site revamp, so I don't think anyone minds it right now.

I'm sorry to be so frank, but you won't know what your users/viewers want unless they are honest.

Love Rev3, I hope the company exeeds everyones expectations.

I agree, and good post.

I don't think any reasonable person expects there to never be extenuating circumstances or a delayed release every once and a while, but especially with the relaunch of Revision 3, I think now is the perfect time to iron out any kinks and maybe come up with a few backup plans, such as filming earlier or releasing later. Aside from having a nice array of shows, I think the next most important part for Rev3 to focus on is schedule.

And if nothing else, communication is KEY. A simple post like Jay's is all it even takes to put everyone on notice that they are aware it's late and letting everyone know they are doing their best.

They were hung over Wednesday, I wouldn't expect them to be able to operate a remote control after that night. Patience is a virtue and they will get things going strong, people new to the whole revision3 have a lot to catch up to anyway.

People get so cranky lol I think you've got to remember sometimes things just don't work perfect especially with encoding or with the internet or working with a new company for your media.

Secoud that,

As long as it is a good episode they can take as long as they want

Hmmmm thank God many companies don't follow that reasoning or else we'd be living like cave men.

I don't see this ep coming out tonight, just a thought. Maybe they found a site bug (Or lack of support) based around subscription video downloads. Maybe they didn't get it edited. Maybe they can't upload. Maybe this and maybe that.

I just don't see it happening tonight though I'd love to be proven wrong.

If it makes it worth waiting more, I think the guys have a special guest this episode!

And, as for the delays, I don't think Rev3 has finished hiring yet. With time, the team behind Rev3 will grow and work the kinks out.

I'm having a lot of fun just checking out the new site, the new shows and getting to know new people here on the forums.

In all honesty:
diggnation needs to be released on time.

Perhaps the release date for members needs to be adjusted to compensate for "problems"

They tape on Tuesdays (right?) which gives them 3 full days to edit and code.

We get disgruntled when releases aren't as predictable as they should be. We all have our drink on....right?

I remember them saying they taped on Thursday. Either way, all these problems after Keith left probably makes them appreciate him all the more.

Don't encourage them to release later. Saturday nights make it easier for people to watch in groups. I suspected that it would be late because of the party and podcast expo. Somehow I am still having trouble waiting though.

Call me crazy but what exactly is so much work that they need to do to get this shit done?... They use the same exact opening, same exact closing (except for outtakes), and they rarely edit during the shoot meaning that there are no cut aways.... So wtf is taking so long?

they tape on thursdays, this week they taped on wednesday. but they had a lot of problem this week with the the new website's coding issues and everything. theres a lot going on at digg this week. and i agree that this isnt the first time its been off schedule but at least this week there is a valid excuse.

The biggest problem I used to have with Revision 3 was them taking FOREVER to release new content. With the site relaunch I think there going to take care of this problem. Keep in mind the site in general still has alot of bugs so that my play a contributing factor in the delay.

I think Rev3 is going to get better and better with releasing content on time now. Lets not jump the gun...

I also stopped paying for these very same reasons.
Instead I threw money at [unnamed source] that offered the show in record time for non-members
once the show was actually released. Even on Holiday weekends.

They need to stop pretending this is a hobby.
It is tied into digg which is a business.

The reformat of the site has little to do with making the show available, although I love the new interface.

Definate improvement.
I am also noticing [even tonight] that speeds are a bit faster.
Sad to say, but Rev3 had the slowest speeds of all the sites I visit.

the reformatting of a site may have little to do with video but uploading the video for distribution on site that is undergoing problems may casue delays

An hour and a half, times 3, equals 4.5 hours. So expect it out around ohh 2:30am et and 11:30pm pt. Just like a few weeks ago it was 1 day late, 1 turned into 3.... lol Remember, it's revision3, not revision0, or 1, or 2!

*just kidding jay, i love you guys*

If your still waiting, and who isn't, I suggest subscribing (if you have itunes) and checking out the new revision3 videos or stream/download the other new ones. If all else fails or you've already done that, try this for a good time killer. http://www.1980-games.com/us/

Everyone chill out, I can see people getting angry on the old forums. But here, there are plenty of things to post. Im just happy they got the new forums out.

5 PAGES! 5 Pages and the episode hasn't even been released. Don't worry, I wont be amazed for too much longer. Just a few more posts.

Also, phatlip....Are you the one from the old forums with the IE with the X through it?

Only Quicktime, 322 MB? I'm on an upgraded satellite connection where their idea of 'fair use' is that you can't download more than 350 MB in a 4-hour period. Not to whine but c'mon...Perhaps keep it around 250-275 MB next time?

Alright guys, Episode 65 is out. Some good points were made in this thread, but, 5 pages of asking when it will be out doesn't make for a good episode discussion. So, although it was good to discuss the delays, I'm going to close this thread.

As requested, there is a new ep 65 discussion thread that is stickied. I'll leave it stickied for the week, until the next episode comes out, and repeat the process.

Go download the episode, enjoy it, and then discuss it in the new thread here:
http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182

Peace!
