I just finished reading "The Losers" trades. Really quite good until the last trade where it unfortunatly falls down for me.

Regardless, some of the cover art for both the issues and trades is excellent. I'd really love to get some reproductions and|or limited prints. It got me thinking... Short of purchasing the original art is there anyone making limited reproduction of some of the excellent art that modern or clasic comic artists have crated? It seems like with the older audience for comics they would love to get limited edition lithographs for their living rooms and such.

More widely. If you could get one page or cover from any book to put on your wall what would it be?

It's odd, but I don't ever see that. I want the monkey page from Hellboy that we talked about in episode 40 more than any other page out there.

I don't know of anyone putting out cover art other than those released to tie into a major event. Some artists sell prints at conventions but not of covers. Mike Mignola sells digest sized prints at Wondercon and SDCC, each con gets its own print and they change every year. David Petersen of Mouse Guard fame had a set of prints of Star Wars characters done in a unique watercolor style. It may be that copier stores aren't allowed to duplicate copyrighted material but you might ask if they'll scan and get you a poster sized print of your favorite covers.

I can't choose a single cover. Batman Year One/part 2 has a great Batman image. I'd love to see it in black and white. Lots of Mignola covers. Oh! Avengers #4 is fantastic, meaningful to me and iconic. But I have a dialogue-free Mignola page from the Third Wish that is amazing. Wanting more seems like tempting Fate.

While reading SiP I often said aloud, "I would pay for that page". Moore drew some really beautiful pages in the ornate gutter work, text, lyrics and notes floating by or just some really elegant page layouts that seemed to hit me in the gut; David kneeling to pray, Katchoo on the plane, Francine checking her messages. Fantastic shit.

Same goes for those covers. I would pay a fortune for large hi-res versions...

The comic book that hooked me was Incredible Hulk #340, which has the famous Wolverine with Hulk's reflection in his claws cover. There's a page in that issue where Wolverine has really fucked up Hulk and the Hulk stands up and holds himself from falling apart and basically says exactly what the motivation of his character is, and what the main flaw of Wolverine is. The combo of the art and the words are exactly why I'm a comic book fan and I'd love to have a replication of that page.

The most recent batch of Wonder Woman covers. If I looked deep, I can guarantee tha twouldn't be my pick, but off the top of my head those are fantastic.

Being a huge Wolverine fan, I would love this:

I love how short it makes Wolverine look. He's a tiny guy, and Juggernaut is freaking huge but he's still afraid. He backs down rather than fighting. Plus I love Kubert's art.

The positioning of that is silly. Why would Wolverine be wedging his leg between Juggernauts torso and arm? And how deep is that bar that he can spread his legs and have room for both? The way they've managed to make it look right while implausibly hiding his feet is, I hate to say it, Liefield-esque.

Damn, I need to start picking up L&R and SiP.

I disagree. The way I see it, Juggernaut is standing right next to the bar with his arm over it. Wolverine jumped up on the bar, so his foot is hidden behind Juggernaut's leg from our point of view. I dunno. Looks fine to me.

I dunno. Looks fine to me.Right. So Juggernaut's leg is away from the bar (if you look at it, it looks like he's quite far from it), his arm is over the top of it, and Wolverine's foot lies somewhere between it.

That's just me nitpicking I'm sure though.

From what I see, his leg is right next to the bar. But hey, that's just my opinion. It's a piece of art I'd really want.

Troll much esophagus? In order for that Kubert piece to be the least bit Liefield-esque I think it would be necessary for there to be some beach balls rolling around on the floor so as to obscure Juggernaut's feet. I don't think it's too much to ask that in a thread like this that a person can post a piece that they like, and not expect to have their opinion derided.

I'm sorry if that sounded preachy, but damn...

Jon's kinda right here. This is a discussion about the art people would love to have hanging on their walls - it's not a critical analysis, ergo not really a place to whack people's tastes.

Yeah, as I said, not trying to step on toes. That foot just bugs me. But that's just me. Past that, it's an epic picture of Wolverine and Juggernaut. They both just like I think they should look in a comic.

Holy crap, Six. Excellent choice. Of course I could probably pick a random number between 1 and 144 and find a page from Gotham Central that would be awesome.

I recently finished Essential Thor Volume 3 and have been itching for more Thor. I love Ego the Living Planet and Jack Kirby Ego page, just about any one of them would be awesome.

Or, pretty much anything from JR JR's Thor run.

Hi, as a matter of fact, I'll be listing page 4 of Hulk 340 signed by Todd McFarlane on ebay soon. It is professionaly framed with a mint copy of the front cover and the page from the book centered under the art. I'm also thinking I'll throw in all the Hulk issues Todd did including a mint copy of 340 also signed by McFarlane. Think anyone will be interested?
