Bruce Campbell is the 4th villain in SM3??

It has been comfirmed. Bruce will be playing mysterio in Spiderman 3. I find the premise potentially lame but that's just my opinion.

I've heard stuff about it being manwolf since the symbiote comes from a space exploration that John Jameson is most likely a part of. It'll probably be something weird like him growing some hair or something in like a two second shot that'll be really underplayed and not important.


but like thundercat said, i don't think any of this is officially "confirmed" from reading the article. ugh.

And the whole idea is out of the pages of the Ultimate Spidey comic. And I didn't think it was that great then. And Bruce Campbell WAS playing Quentin Beck in the comic book joke too.

I just have to trust in Sam the man. I'm so excited for this movie.

I didn't click at all, I read through the rest of the thread anyways to see you guys debunk/credit it.

And even so, 4 villians now? I hope this doesn't turn into an x3 type deal, I'd like to see them keep it tight rather than just throw in a bunch of characters as an easy way to make the movie rather than focusing on the character of Spiderman himself, the damn namesake of the movie.

Being the Spiderman and Bruce Campbell fan that I am (I OWN the Man with the Screaming Brain), I'm wondering if this would be a too big of a role, since part of the awesomeness of Bruce in the previous two movies is how small his roles were. Sure, Mysterio may not do much (kinda like the boss fight in one of the video games...), but it'll probably not be as irrelevant/funny.

There was a comic-con trailer released in very, very poor quality that showed venom at the end standing in the clock tower, breathing heavily, and then leaping out with his tongue extended. It will probably be released this winter.

The Comic-Con SM3 trailer or a brand new is suppose to be attached to Casino Royale which comes out in about three weeks I think.

Could it be possible that Venom is only introduced in this movie? I haven't heard anything about the focus of this movie, so I have no clue. Just thought it could be a possibility since we have the Sandman and Harry Osborn to deal with, and Spiderman has to go through the whole getting the symbiote and losing it routine.

Also, back to Bruce Campbell:

No, no.... Spider-Man Vs. Army of Darkness. Spidey teams up with Ash, and... no, wait, just typing that made me have an accident. Never mind.

As far as BC as Mysterio, there's no way he'd have a role which extended over 2 minutes of film. My guess is he'd be in the opening as the villain who Spidey easily trumps before going back to make sweet elbowy love to Mary Jane. Y'know, a status quo set up.

And you all know that Campbell would be amazing as Mysterio. Don't deny the truth.

Yes, Campbell as Mysterio would be crazy-awesome, but it doesn't sound like it's going to happen :(

Also, is Sky High enjoyable? I haven't seen it...

If Mysterio is in this movie at all is has to be a small scene with Quentin Beck in it, kind of like how they set up Doc Conners in Spider-man 2, and how id wish they had set up Eddie brock.
