Live video broadcasts from a cell phone? On the flight home from CES 2008 we realized watching Robert Scoble walking and streaming live video with Qik was way cool... and something we wanted to play with on Systm.

I like the idea of advertising other podcasts at the end, too. I love finding new ones to watch. (Already knew about Make's, podcast, just like the idea of the ad.)

To be honest, when I watched this episode I went back to double check that I hadn't accidentally downloaded a episode of Tekzilla daily.
The low-tech content of this episode, is really the sort of stuff we've come to expect from Tekzilla, and as somebody already pointed out the episode was exceptionally short.
Actually the issue with short episodes have been going on for a few weeks now, and I wonder if it's just being posted for the sake of having a weekly show. If you had taken the last 3 episodes and released them as one Systm episode, it would have been a decent 25-35 minutes.
By all means, don't fill a show with crap just to make it longer, but if there isn't enough content to make more than 4 minutes of show, then why not skip the show this week and release a longer show every 2-3 weeks instead.

Also, when are we going to see Dave Randolph again? He decreases the entropy of the show by about 200%.

I came across pocketcaster about a week ago, www.comvu.com. Runs on windows mobile devices. I've been playing with it an it works decently. I haven't seen Scobel's streamcast so I don't know how is compares. I am running pocketcaster on a Motorola Q9h (Q9 Global from AT&T). When I did my broadcasts, I had 3G service - was able to output at 250+ kbps - resulted in a frame rate in the 5-7 fps. So that is not great video but hell my wife thought is was pretty cool watching my daughter at ice skating lessons. If this tech takes off the performance will only get better...
